I'm sure that the majority of traditional wetshavers have tried, or at least heard of Proraso cream or soap. For most of us, Proraso brings to mind a strongly-scented eucalyptus and menthol shaving item with great lather and good beard-softening features. WELL, guess what - recently Ludovico Martelli, the manufacturer of Proraso released a brand-new version with a lovely sa
ndalwood scent that has the same great lather and awesome skincare, and is made without even a drop of menthol or eucalyptus so there isn't even the slightest hint of a cooling sensation. Let me tell you beautiful people about it!

Ease of lathering: 10/10-- A little cream on a wet brush, and BINGO! Rich lather.

Longevity of lather: 10/10--Purrrrrrrrrr-fect! Stable, stable, stable!

General skincare: 9/10--Moisturizing and very soothing. Great post-shave feeling.

Scent: 9/10--Brilliant. Classy and elegant. Sandalwood in a deep way.

Price: 8/10--Fendrihan's sells it for 9,95$ CAD. Reasonable, yes?

Would I buy again: 10/10--Absolutely. It is a wonderful cream.

For anyone with a tough beard and sensitive skin like myself, this cream is a dream come true. Although I am a fanatic menthol lover, this cream is one which I would buy repeatedly even though it has none, because it is so nicely-scented, it lathers so well, (just a little cream is needed!) and it protects my skin against dryness and razor burn, and it has such a soothing and relaxing effect, not to mention the great blade glide! It's also readily available here in Canada.

Of all the sandalwoods I've tried, this one has the best scent (IMO). It's much more creamy and moisturizing to me than Proraso Green and lathers easily. Great Review Jeff and I couldn't agree more.

In typical "un dave" fashion, I actually finished a tube of this the other day. It's a good thing I have a backup

Thanks for the review Jeff and the encouraging words Dave. I am a long time Proraso Green fan, but I have broke down and purchased a tube of this new red stuff. I will give it a go either tomorrow or Sunday.

Thank you for the review! Excellent and appreciated, as always. Biggrin

With sensitive skin and a tough beard as well, I am loving this cream. In my top 5 easily. Always consistent and easy to work with and it leaves my skin in perfect shape. A bargain at around 10 bucks!

The Red bumped the Green to the side. I tried going between the two new formulas equally, but it seems I have 3/4 of the green left and only a 1/4 of the red left. I love this stuff. What other "New Formula" products come out better than the original? So far all of Proraso's new formulas are better than the originals. The new A/S has bumped my Alt Innsbruck in terms of what I feel like using the most.

I just got my first tube today and shaved with this morning. Proraso did hit it out of the ballpark on this one. I love the scent and performance.

It's an awesome cream. I would have used it this morning, but it's so hot here in Montreal that I needed a mentholated set-up to get cooled off!

I feel for you. It is 100 here today but it is a dry heat Smile Used Proraso Red again this morning. Awesome stuff with great cushion. I am not a huge cream guy but this is going to see a lot of use. The scent is spot on.

Disappointed Sad tried it this morning, the white tub I have found to be so much better. I don't know why, but the foam no matter what I did didn't lather as thick and rich. I tried mug lathering and then direct face lather, don't get me wrong got plenty of lather but it was very thin if you know what I men. Oh well, will try to give it another try after tomorrow.

Scent wise, nice.. Nothing to write home about still prefer the white.
