These are my latest brushes restorations.

This was my first quality badger brush,an Omega silvertip (631) that I got back in 1997.I just put an 18 mm finest badger knot on it :

Hi Teiste

Very! nice on all three counts Thumbsup

What loft heights did you settle on?

I like the look of the "whipped dog handle", how's the quality of it?

I do like my The Golden Nib badger hair knots, but for overall value I really don't think you can beat their Two Band Finest.

Take care, Mike

Hello Mike.

I set the 1st one at 50 mm,the second one at 48 mm (has a great flow) and the third one as 51/52 mm.

Im agree that its hard to beat their finest badger knots, even when I must admit, that these days I prefer 3 band badger hair.

Very nice, i do like the last brush, and the one your friend made, lovely grain running through the handle, also a loft of 48mm and 50mm seems about right for the perfect loft height IMO.

Hi Teiste

Thank you Thumbsup

1st one: How do you find the 18mm Two Band Finest knot set at 50mm eg Backbone, flow through, etc?

2nd one: Totally agree with you on "great flow" for 20mm Two Band Finest knot set at 48mm - I love my one, set 1mm lower at 47mm.

Take care, Mike

Mike :

1.The 18 mm knot set at 48 mm loft has a lot of backbone.I had another 18 mm set at 50 mm loft, which has a better flow. Both knots have soft tips,so are pleasant to use.

2.Yes,a simple 1mm could make a difference.I truly like the finest badger fan shaped nots, since has a good amount of backbone and good flow as well as soft tips.
