Four days ago, I purchased this soap. So far, I tried it two times. I am surprised. The performance of this soap is outstanding. I also like the post-shave feeling. The scent is mild but its ok. I don't mind. It pairs really good with Myrsol Agua Balsamica.

So, I decided to use this soap for the entire month! I'll do my best.

Good stuff, Nick! I've been thinking about finally giving this a fry. Kinda want to try a different scent though.

Very much agree- the scent is mild (which I too like) but it is a great performer. I can't commit to the full month as I have some really great soaps recently added to the rotation but I will give it a go tomorrow to support the cause!

Good luck, Nick and it is a great soap. Unfortunately, the scent wasn't for me.

Thanks Nick- this really is a fantastic soap. Everytime I use it I am reminded of just what a great shave it provides.

How was your shave today and what was your setup?

Another excellent shave about an hour ago.
Kevin, I' ve tried a lot of soaps and creams, but the performance of this one is remarkable. I need to try the Cedre- Patchouli version...
Unfortunately, I haven't tried MdC and I can't compare them.

So, for today the setup was:

Semogue OC
Le Pere Lucien
EJ DE89 Barley
Astra S. P.
Floid Black

So excited about the result! Rolleyes

I am doing my research right now on the original soap. I personally feel the original has the best performance for my skin in comparison to the other available scents.

I used the Le Pére Lucien intense aroma soap last week for the start of Soap of the Week thread. I used it 4 times with fantastic results. I was using a variety of badgers and getting good lather from all of them.

I couldn't finish the other 3 days as the weather is changing in SoCal and it was calling for less herbal scents and darker/sweeter scents.

I prefer to finish a LPL shave with Myrsol Agua Balsamica rather than the LPL aftershave. Another one that I love mixing with the Myrsol is the Razorock King Louis Lavender Aftershave Lotion (splash).

Good luck. You will really "know" everything about LPL. A month goes by quickly.

Well done Nick- I came very close to joining you again this morning but used a new Soap Commander instead. This weekend I will however. On a side note can you tell me a bit about your Myrsol Agua Balsamica? I know it is wildly popular but I have never tried.

How many of you consider LPL original a fougere scent? I guess that is has many thing to be considered a fougere but to me it is very herby and medicinal. That is why I prefer the Agua Balsamica. It has Rosemary, Thyme and Lavender as the scent. It makes the end of the shave light and refreshing without any heavy fragrance. May complain about Myrsol has only 30min longevity which is about what I get but the face feel for an alcohol splash is very nice when you are used to balms or balsams. It is highly recommended by me.

I suppose I would categorize the soap as a fougere but feel it has an even greater herbaceous scent than others I have tried. More fresh cut grass and I also pick up a note of sage. On top is a bit of eucalyptus and/or very slight aromatic quality along those lines. It is definitely one of my favorites but subtle and just different enough to almost fall outside typical categorization.

Then again, what do I know  Wink

Kevin, thank you!  Smile  I have to agree with zac. The scent is almost identical with LPL, but my problem is the poor longevity. The face feel is excellent, leaves the skin really smooth and refreshing. So far, I have three Myrsol, Emulsion, Lemon, Balsamica. I had the chance to sniff all of them. Balsamica makes the difference, in my opinion. The scent is so unique! You have to try it!
