Recently I saw I BST post on another site for a Simpson Classic 2 for dirt cheap that is supposed to be a shedder. I've been looking at a Simpson around 23mm that is denser than my Colonel so I gave it a shot just to try it out. This little Classic is a great brush! While it's lost a few hairs during the cleaning and first use it hasn't been an obscene amount that I associate with a failing knot.

While an older vintage the hair is very similar to Shavemac Finest in feel and density. A very slight hint more scritch but you have to be extremely observant to notice. It builds lather very well and the handle is great for a small facelather. For the the flack I give Simpson's regarding having a lack variety in their Best range for handles you can't complain about the quality of the hair. If it does turn out to be a bad shedder buying a new one may be worth it.

Congratulations on your first Simpson! The Classic's are a lovely brush. Good luck with the shedding, here's to hoping that it last for a long time.  Thumbsup
