Saw on Base Notes one of the folks found Domenico Caraceni EDT was relaunched in Italy. Very high marks for this one

I just ordered a sample from Lucky Scents.  I have heard such great comments about this scent over the years I figured it was worth a try.

I have a bottle on order, having a bit left in a vintage bottle. It's a dark dusty rose with some pepper in it. Not that sweet and an elegant evening fragrance.

It's powerful and easy to overdo IMO.

Cheers, Steve

Anyone know if the relaunch is the same as the vintage juice?  Anyone compare it to C&S 88?

I don't have the new bottle yet so cannot compare new to old. Others have said it is the same. Compared to C&S 88 DC is less sweet, drier, and has a peppery note to it.

This is great news. I have a 50% full, 4 year old bottle. Looking on an Italian website, the bottle has changed shape and colour.

The new bottle just arrived and I did a quick test against the old. I like the new better. I bought the old bottle off a forum and it has maybe 20 ml in it and has a little bit of a musty or funky note to it that the new juice does not have, but I can say that I do not know the history of the old bottle or how it was stored.

I don't find the strength to be much different if any, but the old was quite strong and I had to hold the bottle away from me, therefore wasting some or it was just too strong for me. I would not be surprised given today's fragrance environment if they throttled the atomizer a bit, which I would actually welcome.

Anyway, life is good and I may even buy a backup.

Cheers, Steve

Thanks for the comparison, Steve. Interestingly, my 4 year old bottle is the same colour but a different shape to your old bottle.
