Has anyone else come to the realization that P-red cream is more slick and cushioning than the soap? During and post shave feel is just more comfortable for my face. The scent of both though really sends me!

Can't compare the two as I've only used the soap, which I've been extremely pleased with.

I am not sure the comparison is valid, but I use both Proraso Sapone (Green Tub) and C.O. Bigelow (Proraso) Creme and I can report similar results. Cream vs. Croap, maybe?  Sherlock

I used both the P-red cream and soap, and for me just on the 1st try the soap is more easy to make a good lather. But in terms of performance i can say they feel the same, but this is still to be proven further with more tests Smile

When you next order something from your favorite vendor, definitely include a tube!  Biggrin

I believe your point is likely valid, Sir. Fwiw, they say COB and P-green cream are one and the same, but i'm not convinced. I'm just saying.

I think the tubes of cream do provide a slicker lather for both the P-green and P-Red.   I actually put a little snurdle of cream on to the soap in the tub and blend together for the best of both for face lathering.
Regarding the difference between Bigelow and Proraso,  the ingredients lists are different with Bigelow being closer to the original un-reformulated Proraso that contained parabens.  The Bigelow is also a more translucent creamy off-white color whereas the newer proraso is pure white.  I like the Bigelow a little better as I find it a wee bit slicker as well.

I've been know to add a snurdle now and then myself.

+1 re: the differences between the Bigelow and Proraso creams. I think your observations are accurate and well put.

I'm typically a fan of soaps, I dislike creams even, but I think the cream is a lot better. It is slicker, easier to lather, and has better stability.

I have no issues with the soap's latherability, but i agree it is not as slick as the cream. By stability do you mean shelf life?

Stability: How long the lather stays lather before beginning to dissipate.

Interesting. I've had no issues with that. I will say though that the lather from the soap is not as thick and rich feeling as the lather made by the cream.

I've been meaning to give the red a try. I love my blue cream. Wish they would make a blue soap for me to try. Wasn't a fan of the white soap. I need to break down and buy both red and green in both soap and cream to be able to contribute to this discussion.

I have used both with no difference in lather quality, ease of lathering, etc.

I own both Red's, and enjoy both. But my favorite in this case has to be the cream, it feels richer and the lather is more thick and protective.

I find the tub quicker to lather, whereas the cream provides noticeably more slickness.

I've come to the same conclusion with the red, white and green Proraso.  The ingredients appear to be the same when comparing labels, but for me personally, the creams give me better slickness, cushioning and post shave feel.

Proraso cream in tube is one of the greatest buy of all time. It out performs many much more expensive creams.  IMHO.  Love the Blue and the Red.

Its been a long, long time since my family lived in the far east and my memory is a little clouded but sandalwood was used for everything. Including sandals., and Poraso Red is the closest thing to the real thing fragrance wise of anything marked "sandalwood " shaving related. But having had both the cream and the soap i decidedly preferred the soap, but ymmv.
