I know this brush was the talk of the town about 3 years ago but I started using it again because of another thread about it. The H.I.S. brush by Beauty Strokes. This brush just whips up fantastic lather with no trouble. I think this was the first synthetic to come along that made guys sit up and take notice.  The bristles are so soft. I believe they are even softer than a Plisson synthetic which has really soft bristles. The 28mm knot is huge so I give it a good squeeze before I start to whip up my lather. I’ve used it for bowl lathering and face lathering with a shave stick and it performs really great.  For just $28.06 on Amazon you can’t go wrong.
If you haven't tried one of these babies yet, you don't know what you are missing.

I am a big fan of the H.I.S. brushes, too. Great performance lathering and no fuss in maintenance. It is my favorite synthetic. To satisfy my SBAD, I have resorted to putting H.I.S. knots into a variety of different handles.

Here is a family portrait from a couple of months ago.

Since then I have added a couple more stock H.I.S. brushes that may donate their knots in the future to more interesting handles.

They do look good. I guess you are a fan of the H.I.S. brushes. You can't beat them for the price.

The H.I.S synthetic knot has gotten positive reviews.  It's a generation 4, like the Muhle / Edwin Jagger Silvertip Fibre v.2 and Pur Tech.  I want to try the knot but don't care for the handle.  My plan is to follow Mile's (moallen) lead and have the knot transplanted into a Doug Korn D7 handle.

I don't mind the handle that comes with it but you have me curious as to what the Doug Korn D7 handle looks like. Do you have a picture of one?

I'm with you- curious but not a fan of the handle.

Mike's brushes on the other hand... particularly those middle two. Great looking and I am sure solid performers! Well done.

If you look at Mike's picture, the Doug Korn D7 is the blue one, which is the second from the left.  I have this Doug Korn D7 in ivory with a TGN Finest knot:

Doug Korn's D7 handle is a beauty and he does a great job transplanting the H.I.S. knot.

Those are nice looking handles. Now you guys have me thinking of getting another just to have it put into a handle like the D7. Really nice.
