My wife found this old Father's Day card among some family papers. It had been given to her father, a WWII vet,  by her two older brothers in the mid-50s. (I cloned out the signatures.)

I thought about posting it in the General Shaving Forum, but decided to place it here instead to kick-off a discussion of Father's Day wish-lists, gifts given, and gifts received.

That is a really neat old card.  Thanks for sharing.  Father's day to me is just another Sunday of the year.  All kids grown and gone.  Will probably get a few email and phone calls, but that's it.  No gifts.  Don't want any and don't expect any.

I'll likely get a few bottles of expensive wine, which is fine with me because I rarely spend more than $20-$25 on a bottle. In my experience, generally speaking, you get what you pay for. Just like a $20 bottle is "better than" a $12 bottle, a $40 bottle is better than a $20 bottle. The wine will be a gift from my bride.

To be honest I'm not expecting any shave related gifts. Unless i hit them over the head with "this is what i want," i usually get whatever they buy at the last minute. Bet your last dollar my adult daughters have not yet thought about a FD gift.

I'll get a few grilling accessories, BBQ sauce that sort of thing.  We will most likely BBQ or Smoke for both our parents and have them over for lunch/supper etc.

My wife knows I am very specific about shave stuff and have enough, so BBQ stuff is safe and will get used.  Pics will follows.

I like how they pluralized the front of the card...we've done that trick too. That's an awesome card and very cool that it survived this long.

Excellent sentiment Ken, thanks. Father's Day means way more to me now that I'm a Grandfather. I get to appreciate what wonderful fathers my Sons are. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY everyone!

That's a great card! I've already gotten my father's day gift. It was a surprise early father's day /B day from my wife. I have not used the propane side yet but have broken in the charcoal side several times.

Nice!  Charcoal is hard to beat, but I imagine having both is really convenient.

So far the haul has included a mechanical keyboard plus a Barbour cap, shaving towels stitched with with "Paladin" and "Dark Holler Design Works", and a "Paladin" baseball cap.

And my daughter hasn't checked in yet.

Is that the Barbour hat you were sporting when you and Cody were enjoying a drink?

If so, it looks great on you.
