Lucky Tiger or Proraso pre/post? One that does it ALL.

I'm sure you guys have used both and have more of an opinion than I do on both. I'm in a tight jam and don't know which to get.

*Note, I'm not a preshave guy. So the preshave won't matter to me or be the deal breaker.

Proraso Splash or Speick. I always use a moisturizer after a splash.

Are you referring to the new Proraso balm? If so I think it just came out.
If I had to choose between Lucky Tiger and Proraso pre/Post I would choose Proraso.

No, I'm not referring to the green tub. I was referring to the the liquid balm.

Is this the balm your referring to? giftsandcare.com is the only vendor I've seen with the blue label balm out yet. There are several with the new formula white label balm including The Italian Barber.

The one Italian barber has is the green tea and oats. I;m looking for the original post shave lotion. I'll just have to wait longer I guess until someone gets the shipment in.

Just like this one:

Phil still has that for sale. The green tea and oat replaced that though and I'm assuming once the vendors with some remaining like Bullgoose sell all of theirs it's gone for good.

Are you sure about that? I doubt they'd replace the original aftershave balm. It's too good to be replaced.

Maybe Phil or Joe can chime in on this but I'm pretty sure they reformulated all of the products and that original balm is now the green tea and oat balm.

GFt and Floid would do nothing for razor burn, nicks and cuts, or moisturize the skin after a shave. They're good for making the skin smell good and toning it.

GFT Skinfood is one of the most overrated products out there.

I'm a bit confused between your title and ask but I'll add my opinion accordingly: Speick

Why do you say they wouldn't do anything for razor burn, nicks, and cuts, or moisturize? I can't speak as much for GFT Skinfood but Floid Blue does a good job at all of those. Most people seem to think GFT Skinfood is a great moisturizer. I agree with TexBilly on the Speick splash which is widely thought of as the best healing aftershave available.

Because I've used skin food and this stuff sucks as moisturizer or as a healer for razor burn or cuts. It's the same thing as corn huskers lotion basically, but with a better scent and packaging. I've never used Floid Blue, but it looks like it's just your average menthol-scented alcohol splash. Why would you think anything that has alcohol in it, would cure razor burn?

For me alcohol based splashes cure razor burn better than balms but everyone is different. I assume because it kills the infection. One thing Floid Blue is really good at is moisturizing. When I use it my face feels like I put lotion on all day long when I feel it. Not all alcohol based splashes are drying although I'm sure some are, especially cheap ones.

As far as the best aftershave of those listed and I'm speaking only of aftershaves not pre-shaves, having tried both I would recommend the Proraso. It's a fine aftershave, it's not my very favorite but a darn good one. I felt no special draw to the Tiger. I quite like Blue Floid as a first choice aftershave but as everyone knows, it's soon to be a thing of the past. I'm wondering if the new Baby Blue will be something close to Blue Floid?

I think that most of us were assuming that Proraso would continue with their Green, White and Red products with just a newer version or new product in each line up. From what I've seen of the new line ups, I've seen nothing advertised that would lead me to believe that the old Green Balm continues going forward. I've wondered if the Blue Balm is the replacement for the old Green Balm. If anyone could set me straight I would appreciate the information.

I have to agree with you here. I purchased the Floid Blue and to me that is a very accurate description. It's definitely not a balm, but as you said, "a menthol-scented alcohol splash. I realize I'm in the minority and probably one of the few here that Floid Blue doesn't agree with, but I did not find the scent pleasant and it gave me a headache the two times I applied it.

I typically do my best to avoid products with alcohol as it seems to increase redness and irritation, even if only temporarily. I find Musgo Real to be very soothing to my face.

One thing about it, you shouldn't have had any problem unloading the portion you didn't use.

I've always refered to the Proraso "balm" as lotion, they call it "Liquid Cream Aftershave"--looks like lotion to me... Either way, I've never used the Lucky Tiger, but I'd like to give it a try. The Proraso A/S lotion, old and new formula, hydrate pretty well. I don't have any issues with razor burn, so I couldn't say if it heals good or not.

If you need something for irritation, I'd try Pre de Provence balm. I don't see any problem using an A/S with alcohol as long as you follow it up with some type of moisturizer. Some alcohol splashes actually work fine without a moisturizer--Alt Innsbruck is probably the best healer I've used that doesn't dry your skin, but the scent isn't for everyone and it's expensive. I avoid expensive products, simply because if they suck you just wasted a lot of money. I gambled on Alt Innsbruck and won, I gambled on Floid and lost--I'm done gambling.
