BullGoose Shaving has been working on launching a new brand for several months and the time of launch is near. Asylum Brush works will start off by offering three high quality synthetic brushes. The handles will be made of a heavy resin that is lathe turned and the knots will be hand tied in the EU. We plan to slowly expand the brand to include software and other hardware. Everything under the Asylum umbrella will be of high quality and moderate price.

The launch is probably still two weeks off but I thought that I would share some teaser pics.

Do we have any idea of the price? Love to order ASAP if the price s right. Synthetic knots, I believe, should be in a $25-45 range. Any thoughts here?

Those handles look great Phil, especially the one in the middle.  Can you give us an idea of what the loft and diameter will be like?

The handles alone are worth more than that. These brushes will be in the $65 range give or take. I will not be able to determine a final price until I know my total cost basis.

Keep in mind that the handles are lathe turned from heavy resin (not some cheap injection molded plastic handle) and the knots are hand tied from premium fiber. There are a lot of labor costs.

Thank you Shawn.

1) The butterscotch brush will be extra stuffed with Silvertip fiber and the dimensions will  be approximately 24mm knot diameter and 52mm loft.

2)  The Malaquia brush will be 23mm knot diameter and 49mm loft and will also be extra stuffed with silvertip fiber

3) The Amber brush will be extra stuffed in silvertip fiber with dimensions of 23mm knot diameter and 50mm loft.

Will these be the first Hand Tied Synthetic knots on the market?

No... I do not believe so. Simpson and vie-long also have hand tied synthetics.
