I'm trying to watch as much of Euro 2012 as I can. I'm a soccer fanatic and while I'll always cheer for the USA, my favorite national teams are England, Italy, & Germany. My favorite club team by far is Manchester United with Rooney being my favorite player. Messi is a joy to watch and is my 2nd favorite player. Rooney only is higher for me because his style of play reminds me of how I used to play. Needless to say I can't wait for the England game today to see Rooney back in the lineup.

What are you looking forward to and enjoying in this Euro 2012 tournament? My favorite goal so far has to be the spinning back heel by Danny Welbeck.

BOOOO Man U!!! (kidding of course)

My favorite teams are Celtic, West Ham United, Lyon, Arsenal, NY Red Bulls (purely for Thierry Henry) and Borussia Dortmund.
My favorite National team is the US Team but I love to watch Italy, Spain, and Portugal play. I don't have a rooting interest in Euro 2012, but have caught as many highlights off the internet as I can.

I'm looking forward to Bayern Munich... I mean Germany to win the Euro 2012 and avenge that terrible loss to Chelsea.

I am a Bolton Wanderers fan and have zero dogs in this race. I usually watch Bayern Munich after Bolton games as they seem to be on after. So I guess that means that I support Germany?

As far as the Euros goes I just enjoy watching some high quality football. Until the Championship league starts in August.

I'm a Barça fan & if we're talking EPL, a Man City fan. Sorry SharpSpine. :-P.
I'm really a fan of the beautiful game and just love the sport, so I'll watch almost any match.

I'm for España in Euro 2012, but I'm excited to see the Germans, Italians, & French doing well also. Even though I'm a fan of the Spanish, I enjoyed the performance and determination of Croatia in yesterday's match.

Goal of the tournament, so far, is Pirlo's free kick. Can't get much more clinical and by a fantastic player! I was happy to see Balotelli score yesterday and it was also a very good goal.

+1 on Wellbeck's goal.

Walcott was the difference it that match though. Thankfully, he's fit for tonight's game.

The big talking point about Rooney is his haircut though. His combed over mullet just doesn't look right to me. Smile

Really is the worst hair I've seen on a footballer, or anyone for that matter. Probably won't affect his play, but looks atrocious! Lol

I really enjoy watching football/soccer (unusual for a team/ball sport for me) but it's annoying as hell to get decent coverage in the US without paying the cable company a ton of extra money.

Considering that I dropped cable all together, that just makes it worse.

I remember the great Pele from when he played in the US. An unbelievably gifted player maybe the greatest.

Now that's funny! I hadn't even paid attention to his hair so I just went and looked and I can't stop... 24Laughing1Pancarta

He's not, but I am Biggrin I don't know what happened, but after watching a variety of EPL matches over two years, I found myself rooting for Man City.

I do like Rooney and Chicharito, however. In the 5-0 drubbing that Man City handed Man U, it seemed like Rooney was the only one on that team who actually cared and actually played hard to reduce the humility. I can respect a player like that. But his hair....

There are only 2 team sports I can think of, where I can sit down and enjoy a game even if I don't know the teams playing. Those are soccer & volleyball. i used to hate watching soccer as much as I still hate watching golf, tennis, bowling, or NASCAR, but once I started coaching the game and understanding it, I discovered what a great sport it is.

I've been coach or assistant coach now for my sons, teams for at least 16 seasons. The only reason I started coaching was that when my oldest boy was 6, the only way I could get him to go out was to agree to be his coach. Now I coach my younger son's U10 travelling team and am enjoying it more than ever.

Back to the Euro....I don't have a strong preference but if forced to pick, I'd go with Germany since I'm half German.
