Shown below is a matched razor and brush made of cross-cut Olive wood. Olive wood is known for it's beautiful and distinctive grain. Cross-cutting the wood so that the grain wraps around the handle adds an entirely new look.

Below are some recently completed pieces with a bit of a profile to the handle.

A Bloodwood 38C

A Gold-laced Onyx 38C

In honor of the upcoming Memorial Day, I made the Flag razor below. The wood is all Maple and is laser cut. Below the picture of the completed razor is a picture of what the handle looked like to start. 63 individual pieces.

These pieces will not be listed on my site for a while, so if you are interested in any of these items, please PM me.

And for something completely different, I just completed a project for a customer who wanted to spruce up his taproom. Custom tap handles for his draft beers.

Thanks for looking,

Beautiful work. How do the handles, such as, the Lapis or the Tourmaline laced Quartz
stand up to water? Any special care needed?

The stone handles are impervious to water and my wood handles are finished with 5-8 coats of a marine sealant originally designed for sailboat decks. No special care is needed other than to avoid abrasive cleaners, which will dull the finish.

I just completed the razor shown below. It is made of 20 separate laser cut pieces of wood to create the handle for the Merkur 34C.

While recently archiving photos of past work, I came across this picture of a set I built in 2009 and was struck by the clean and simple lines of the brush handle.

The new 22mm brush below follows the same design and is made from Bloody Basin Jasper.

I think it has a classic, almost retro look to it and I would be interested in any comments on the design.

Thanks, Bob

I have just finished my first piece made with Russian Bog Oak. The wood was delivered to me with a copy of the radiocarbon dating results, placing the age at 5,460 years +- 50 years. The handle on the brush shown below, with a 24mm Finest knot, is made from Russian Bog Oak.

The razors shown have handles made from Black Onyx and Maple Burl, respectively.

I generally present my brushes as finished pieces. However with the number of members on this forum that are comfortable with knotting a brush, I wanted to offer my handles as individual items.

I have grouped them by knot size and listed the material, handle size and price at the bottom. The pricing includes domestic shipping via USPS First Class, as well as a detail card describing the material used for the handle.

Please PM me if you have any questions or would like me to set a specific knot type in a handle for you.

Thanks, Bob Quinn
