I wanted to pick up a new 37C, but none of my normal vendors have any in stock and neither do the vendors I don't use. So what's the deal? Is Dovo screwing around or am I just between everyone's shipments?

I really prefer to stay loyal to my normal vendors.

*John, are you referring to Merkur's 37C, and not Dovo, right?

Both Merkur slants have been really difficult to source in the UK of late with only one vendor carrying any stock.

What makes you think I'd buy from you?!!! LOL
Seriouly, BGS was the first place I went last night and did not see it. I see it now, I have NO clue how I missed it.

Thanks

Order sent and I can't wait to see how the 37C compares to the old Hoffritz slant. They have slight differences, but I'm sure it will be awesome. Of the 40+ razors I've used, this will be the 4th new razor I've bought.

Let us know how you like the razor.
I have been looking at these.

I'll definitely compare the two. I've been using the Hoffritz ( vintage Merkur slant ) almost daily for 2 years, so I'm very familar with it--I even shave my noggin with it. I won't need to do a side by side and I'll have a good idea how it works pretty quick

I spoke too soon. I thought I had more on the way but when the package arrived, I saw both the 39C and 37C are on back order. Angry I do still have a few left but will likely be sold out soon.

As long as I got mine, I don't care about anyone else. LOL
BTW, I tried to buy a tube of the old formula Proraso that you have on clearance, but they're all gone. At $7 it was a steal.

From California to Corn Cob County Pennsylvania in 2 days! I wasn't planning on using the 37C until Monday, but Friday it is.

I'm entirely convinced that if Phil would have been around in 1846, "The Donner Party" would have be known as an epic kegger rather than a cannibalistic blood fest. Thanks for the extras too.

I get to review some new stuff tonight. Wow, I just realized how utterly pathetic that sounds... Friday nights were once fun nights out with friends, now it's reduced to spending time in the bathroom shaving. Oh well, hangovers suck and Musgo won't give you the clap.

I noticed yesterday that the 37C is sold out on most of the major vendors.

Yeah, and Phil said that they were back ordered. I suppose they had better fire up the machines and get back to work. LOL

Boy, can I ever sympathise with your last paragraph. Years ago when I went to WalMart I'd look around in the electronics department and drool over all the gadgets. I was happy if I could find something I wanted at a good price. Now when I go to WalMart I'm happy if there's a discount on my prescriptions and if the price of butt wipes has gone down 25 percent. To quote Dr. Smith from Lost in Space: "Oh, the pain... the pain..."

Merkur has had trouble getting the pieces for their razors, they had an email floating around somewhere about it, it would seem as part o the German governments economy action plans rather then loose skilled workers because of not being able to afford them they allowed workers to be given smaller hours the business would pay and the government would make up the rest of the pay, but because merkur sources different pieces from different plants who all are running on different scheduals at lower hours now they have had trouble getting their razors together nd production has dropped off a bit making them a bit tougher to get but still not impossible

That was the situation here three years ago. It's history by now.
