My Atra has a date code of E2, made in 1984. It is such a beautiful design.

That bought back a few memories.

First razor I ever used. I borrowed my dads and ended up with major razor burn.

Bought my own soon after. I had the one with the metal handle but with black paint. Recently been trying to find another one without much luck.

I have a nice brown handled atra. I want one of the all metals but the prices to get one are stupid silly on the bay.

I've used Atras since college, when Gillette sent me a box of grooming stuff.  I found it to be a great razor, esp the swiveling head, and never wanted to go to more expensive carts.  I usually shaved a month per cartridge.

Every now and then I would grab some NOS bulk blades from eBay.  I bought a couple of extra razor and some old blades from a guy whose dad used to be a barber.  A year ago Amazon had $6 per 10 pack and I bought the max (4 or 5) they would let me buy + a round on my wif'e account.  The last time I did this, I ended up going to DE shaving instead.  I will always keep a couple of Atra razors and blades around for quick shaves, or if I don't stay with DE shaving (hard to imagine).

Below are the ones I own.  Left is the one I keep in my den,  next is the one in my travel kit, and two never used all silver.

Anyone know whether used older blacks or new silvers would be more valuable?

[Image: giaxtra.JPG][Image: 1450920435.JPG]Hi It is great collection. I have seen most (ModEdit: Link to non-supporting vendor removed)  in last 25 years but I have not seen Brown Atra Razor in the Plastic Box. It might be at least 30 + years old. It is worth to saving it.  Was it manufactured in the USA? Now you can't find Original Atra Metal Razor. I looked all over internet and find only one online store usrazor.com  that has few collection like yours. Also (ModEdit: Link to non-supporting vendor removed) Atra Blades are similar to Gillette Atra blades. If you compare price you pay $15 for Atra 10 pack blades and $5 for Wilkinson Atra Style blades when you buy more than 10 packets or 100 blades. Also you can use with Trac II Razor.  It will give you same results. So save money!

Here is the link

Enjoy! Have a good Day!
