Found this English blades at an old drugstore. They look like discontinued blades or something - or there is an English plant producing DE blades nowadays? Huh

What do you think? Have you ever heard of them before? Any thoughts?

I don't believe there are ANY blades produced in england anymore, which is a shame as some of the VERY best blades ever made were produced there. Its hard to comment on blades like this, as there are so many vintage brands I haven't tried. But being made in England, I suspect that they are worth trying and could very well be outstanding

It is hard to believe no blades are made in England any longer. I still have some Vintage Wilkies that I pull out every now and again which are great. Those look interesting!!

Interesting I have some of the earlier Minx carbon blades with the oval cut out. I thought they may be from Laurel blades made in Sheffield. They don't fit a Laurel razor I have so that rules them out as the maker (Laurel razors take a blade that's non standard).
Jewel blades is more likely the maker of these Minx blades from Sheffield. The Jewel blades are quite rough by all reports I haven't tried any.
Jewel blades are still in operation making industrial blades and are part of the Swann Morton company a leader in surgical scalpels.
I pass by their works regularly as it's quite close to where I live.
