Here is another review, and this time of Mike's Natural Soaps (Lavandin scent)
using a brand new Semogue 830. Most of you have heard of Mike's Natural Soaps, here, on the forum. They are made by a true New Yorker in Brooklyn by a very intelligent, funny and busy gentleman by the name of, you guessed it, Mike.
*Ease of lathering = very easy to accomplish. Started with a drier brush, loaded it for 15-20 seconds and added water little by little and worked it for 2 minutes, approximately. You should note that being a brand new brush, the lather could have been even better if the brush had been broken in, so i apologize for this. Regardless, it was still great lather.
*Very stable lather; very creamy and rich consistency. Last photo shows lather on brush for 5 minutes, approximately. Again, as in the Mystic Water review, i face-lather exclusively and have not tried this soap in a scuttle with warm/hot water.
*Excellent skin care; identical to Mystic Water; face feels smooth all day
*Lavandin/Eucalyptus scent has been the only one that i have tried and it has a very pleasant smell and i really like it. i am patiently waiting to try his Bay Rum scent
*Price is great considering how large his rectangular pucks are!
Overall, again, along with Mystic Water, this soap is exceptional; very simple and natural ingredients that provide a fantastic lather with great moisturizing ability. Highly recommended. Last photo is of both Mystic Water and Mike's Natural Soaps.

I have found that this soap is sort of like MWF where scuttles are concerned. It doesn't seem to like to whip up a lather in an already hot scuttle, but adding water to your scuttle after (or holding the bowl in your hand then putting it into the reservoir in the case of a 2-piece scuttle) didn't make it break down for me.
I have the Orange, Cedarwood and Black Pepper scent. It's truly excellent.

It was my pleasure, gents. Fantastic soaps in our neck of the woods that people should be aware of. i have been procrastinating in doing this as these are the only soaps that i use for the simplicity of the ingredients and their performance. i should also note that i also use MJ Soaps, a maker in Quebec, Canada, who also makes some fantastic soaps. Enjoy and hopefully you lads can try these out at some point.

Hi celestino
Thanks for the review

Based on your review and recommendation I've ordered 4 samples in the following scents:
- Barber Shop
- Orange, Cedarwood, & Black Pepper
- Pine & Cedarwood
- Rose & Cedarwood
Edit: Fixed grammar.

Barbershop it is then Dave. Can you describe the scent any further than what's on Mike's website?

I'm not terribly good with scents Ben so I wouldn't trust my sniffer at all. It smells to me just like the barbershop I went to with my dad. It smells a bit like a less harsh version of Clubman. I'm sure others can chime in and correct me, but that's what I get from it. The Bay Rum is the best Bay Rum soap I have ever used. The scent is very close to Kramperts Finest in scent (at least to me) so they go well together.

For those looking for feedback on the unscented. It is amazing! It is a very faint smell (obviously) but the scent is a mellow, slightly sweet and soapy mixture and is very pleasant to me. I believe it to be the mixture of the tallow and the various butters and oils that give it an interesting scent.
People have the choice to use it as a base for a super lather with a scented cream but for me, I like it just the way it is and will continue to enjoy the soft, delicate scent.

Hi celestino
I'm only 2 shaves into my Rose & Cedarwood sample, but I'm already falling in love with the thick and slick lather this shaving soap produces. Excellent stuff

Take care, Mike
