I received some Savonnerie du Bon Berger, Lavender Rosemary the other day, and finally gave it a try this morning.

My initial impression is "favorable at this price point".  It has a wonderful scent at the start of lathering, but is virtually gone before even starting the first pass.  It's a shame, because it smells to me like a muted version of MdC original (which I like).  The scent is actually too subtle for me, but I'm one that likes heavily scented shaving soaps.

Performance is adequate with the straight razor - slick enough when wet - but tended to dry quickly, which required a slight refresh during a pass.

All in all, at this price, a nice soap, but not in the "elite" category for me after just one use (and I emphasize the "just one use" part).

YMMV, of course.

Have you tried the Volcans in peppermint? My 'shave den' has top notes of xmas candy cane with the subtle nuance of Pyewacket's litter tray and even 10% donkey milk makes for
 a lovely shave.
