Now that I've decided on my weapon of choice for my upcoming forced head shaves I'm wondering if anyone has a particular brush/soap or brush/cream combination they prefer to head shave with? Or do you find it easier to use a brushless cream for the head?

I use whatever I'm using on my face.

After all, the scalp is just face skin that looks up instead of forward!

Any brush and software that you have and enjoy will work, I just like my lather on my head to be on the wetter side. I find that my head is more resilient than my face.

I use anything that works on my face. Right now I'm using Mitchell's Wool Fat with a Semogue Owners Club boar brush.

I head shave in the shower. Currently using the H.I.S. synthetic brush with a tabac stick. But for head shaving, even a bar of Ivory soap works for me.

When I was shaving my head I tried Head Slick and IMO bar soap would have worked better. I tried it twice and then gave it away.

Then I just began used what I was using on my face and it worked fine. I used the biggest brush in my arsenal too, not that it's all that big. But the head has a lot of real estate to cover.

Something similar that's cheaper and works better than Head Slick is Rise Shave Gel (not Rise Shave Cream) One dollar a tube at the Dollar Store.
I found it easier to use the Williams I'm face shaving with in both locations for simplicity's sake, but the Rise worked quite well.

Like everyone else, I use whatever I have used on my face that given day. I believe that the skin is equally as sensitive in both areas and merits particular attention. Much like when cooking with wine; I never cook with a wine I would not drink. Happy Shaving. Sam.

Hmmmm Not for me,I think it's much easier to get irritation from head shaving. The hair's tougher and more dense, plus I insist on 360 degrees of ATG total smoothness.

I've found that head shaving's a good stress test for a razor.More often than not if a razor head shaves well it's even better on the face.

Audible feedback ? Nothing like hearing a razor do it's thing an inch above your ear canal.
