I am a big fan of the stock Joris razor, but it occurred to me that the head of the razor is Italian, not French (Fatip). This past week, I have been shaving with a genuine French made razor head attached to a Joris handle, and the shaves have been nothing short of perfect. The Kirby, Beard & Co. razor feels mild in use, giving you the impression that it poses little risk of injury if handled carelessly. At the same time, it effectively wipes away the stubble, resulting in a shave that feels every bit as close as a more aggressive razor like the Joris/Fatip head or R41. What a shame the Kirby, Beard & Co. razor is no longer produced. And what a perfect match the Joris handle and Kirby head make.

How difficult is shaving under the nose with this razor?  It looks like it would be difficult with the way the end of the blade is covered.

Nice.

I like the horn handle best of all the Joris offerings.  I would kill to have one of those Kirby Beard and Company heads.

Seriously a great set-up.

I don't notice any issues getting into tight spaces, like under the nose. I'll bring the razor next time we meet up, and you can give it a try if you'd like.
