So who bought it? (I did).  Who can tell us about the newly reformulated Beta 4.1 formula and scent?

I believe this is the first 4.1 formula soap. TSN LE Flying Mango was 4.0, and it is fantastic. However, I am not sure if the mango butter is what contributed towards the super slick post shave feel, many people believe it does.

4.1 has butter of illipe and macadamia oil, but no mango butter. Regardless I'm sure it will be fantastic!

Their website says "The fragrance is a fresh colony, aquatic, floral and aromatic, with woody base note and amber."

From my previous experience, their shipping is super fast. So I suspect wi will have them very soon. I ordered both the soap, and the aftershave.

I believe "colony" is supposed to be "cologne". Mistranslation from "colonia" (Italian).

I was simply quoting their website Smile

Perhaps it's a similar to Colonia, I've seen a few products use that name.

Sorry, I know you are quoting the site Smile I saw it this morning as well.
I was just stating colonia = cologne (colony doesn't make sense)

Yes and I'm quite sure they're referring to the "Acqua di Colonia" structure that AdP is famous for. They posted the scent pyramid on Twitter:

It sounds fantastic! I am really tempted to pick up the new soap. However, I already have 2 SV soaps, which means I'm breaking my informal rule of only 1 soap per artisan! I also hope that the containers for the soap and aftershave are as nice as they look in the pictures. Unfortunately, I've been pretty disappointed with the quality of some of the packaging on my other SV items: the older style aftershave bottle leaks like crazy, the PET packaging doesn't fit the wooden bowl, and the bowl has a few sloppy manufacturing marks on it. Regardless of these issues, SV soaps are some of the best performing and smelling soaps, so I still love them.

Many cultures share the belief no manmade object should be perfect, that only the Godhead is perfect. They will therefore deliberately include a small flaw in an otherwise magnificent object. I embrace my distressed tins, annoying wax dots on blades, logos that rub off  brushes. A perfect
shave kit would leave me staring in the mirror at one ear noticeably lower than the other, sideburns that never square with the horizon and hair gone from where I wish it and growing where I wish not.

I ordered the 70th Ann. soap and balm (as soon as I got their promotional email).  I'm looking forward to it.  I love SV's Manna di Sicilia.  To me, MdS is my benchmark for post-shave quality.  It beats out Martin de Candre, in my opinion.  Flying Mango didn't quite live up to my expectations, though.  I'm expecting the 70th Anniversary to redeem it.

I look forward to more disappointments from SF. Sometimes I feel we are setting 'the bar' so high we are dazzled staring into the overhead lighting and expect the plumbing to vibrate  lines from ODE TO JOY as we stare back at faces 2 weeks before those first whiskers of manhood appeared.
