So I've been around for a bit, participated in some discussions and never really thought about doing an introduction.  I've found that I like here, there's little drama, a supportive community, and good people.

My name is Jay and I live in the Seattle area.  I've got a small artisan business refinishing mostly vintage Gillette razors, but I've done some others as well.  Most of the non-Gillettes have been refinish work for customers.  I've developed somewhat of a loyal customer base in and around the shaving community.  My little enterprise is known as Delta Echo Razor Works.  For me it's a second job around something I love.  Wet shaving and vintage razors.  The history of things is important to me and I find that doing this suits me.  People have so far been very pleased with what I produce which also gives me a great deal of joy.  So with that in mind, I've also decided to join here as an artisan.  Phil was kind enough to feel that my work would be a good fit for the community.

Some of you may have seen the thread I did on the Fat Boy I made for myself, recently traded to Shane here for some other razors.  Also a Criterion I made for myself.  I still use that one in rotation.  If you did see those threads, yeah, that was me.

I'm not really great with introductions. I don't often spend time talking about myself.  I've got a great wife and three wonderful kids.  A dog. Smile

In short, I'll be around and you'll see more of me.

Cheers,

Jay

Dear Jay,
Welcome to the TSN! I looked on your web site. Congrats, you got some attractive pieces! However, I have to admit that it is difficult to appreciate the difference between "razors on demand" and "refinish services" while "ready to ship" is sort of straightforward. Could you, please, spell out the difference? Best. Alex.

So I'll move this response to the Artisan section once I get that set up.  However anyone looking at this that has suggestions-- I'd love the ideas or feedback.  Here's the explanation:

So yes, ready to ship is pretty straight forward. The on demand section, is an attempt to meter production to demand. In other words, I only create those razors as they are ordered and they ship within a week or so. Mostly because demand has been out pacing production so, I don't want to spend time making a particular color profile, while people are waiting for me to make something else available. It's allowing me to queue production, to what I need to ship. (I don't like the current structure either, I just haven't thought of anything better.. But I'd love suggestions.)

Refinish Services I think is actually straightforward as well, but again open to ideas. It's refinish of your own razor.
