My experience with the D01 2-band was limited to the Badger and Blade 2014 LE. I personally found it a little too scrubby for my tastes. It wasn't terrible, but if I had it to do over again, I would explore either a smaller knot, or perhaps a grade of hair with a little less backbone.

Maybe I'm just a wuss. :-D

I have a re-knotted Chubby 2 with a Shavemac D01 2 band knot in it. It took a long time to break it in, probably the longest of any brush I own, but it was worth the time and effort. It has pillowy soft tips, no scritch, great back bone and is very densely packed with hair.

It is an excellent brush now and I am glad I have it in my collection.
I hope you will post some pics.

Only my personal view as individual preference is key, but with a 24mm diameter knot in this hair, and bulb-shaped, I would have gone for at least a 52mm loft. I've owned two brushes in D01 2-Band, both with Fan knots, and found them too scrubby for my liking. Both were sold. That isn't to say you, personally won't like it.

Particularly as a 24mm nominal knot from Bernd will have an effective size of 25-26mm once set. Will get you to the "Golden Ratio" Wink

I had a D01 2-band 23/50 Fan that was actually very soft without scritch. Didn't keep it because it was too small for my taste. But it was interesting in that I did not detect any of the scrub or scritch that is usually associated with this knot grade.

I'm absolutely sure you will prefer that. I think I should go invisible, now. Biggrin

I have had a three D-01 2-Bands and, only one that had a knot with hair from an older batch, wasn't too scrubby/scritchy for me. The other two, with knots from newer batches of hair, were too scrubby/scritchy for me.
I just recently picked up another, 29x55mm, that is an interesting knot, but I may be finding it too scritchy as I have noticed it containing quite a few Black strands of hair amidst the white-tipped ones. I'll see if I keep it as I am enjoying the different feel, but not so much the scritchiness.

Who knows, you may just enjoy the knot once it softens.
Good luck with the new brush.

I sold 2 out of 3, both bulbs.

D01 2-Band for me has to be in a fan knot, and higher lofted.

The only one left in my collection is a 25 mm knot fan shape and 54 mm loft.
It still is quite scrubby, but have now used it 7-8 times, and it starts to feel better now.

I think this brush need 25+ uses before it becomes tolerable unless you like scrub.

You see it here along with some of its friends, that unfortunately are no longer in mypossession:

The D01 2-Band is the one with octogonal top and round base (the one with the highest loft of them all) - not the octogonal fan shaped one to the left, that one is a D01 3-band (THREE BAND)

I have two Shavemac silvertip two band not the D01 two band brushes if you want a different option 26mm knots with a 48mm loft and I wouldn't go any higher than 48mm it's perfect for me  I love the performance lovely soft tips with plenty of backbone.

I only face lather and both my Shavemacs with the silvertip two band are perfectly suited for this.

So if i setup i new brush, what do you recommend me?

In d01 2 band? 24x52?

Or better in 2 band without d01?

Also i wrote Lee Sabini but no response yet

Well you can go with a higher loft with the bulb but as I only ever have fan shaped brushes I'm not really in a position to give you a definitive answer regarding the knot and loft size.
