Hey guys,

I am looking for some recommendations on a boar knot for use in a custom handle. Transplant or knot alone, what would you guys recommend? I bowl lather sometimes and face lather other times, so I am looking for a good all around performing knot. The only boar I have experience with is an Omega Pro series, but I sold it. It was a little large for me. I've owned a mixed Semogue knot, as well, so I am intrigued with their other knots.

Thank you!

I have been looking at a Semogue 620, if anyone has experience with that knot.

Hi!  we just did a handle for someone who sent us their favorite boar knot.  Looking for the name of the knot maker, definitely will find out.

The Golden Nib sells boar knots.  So does Larry at Whipped Dog.

I like to know who does the boar knots for the B&B LE brushes. I have the blue one and it has become my favorite boar! Great all around brush and knot.

I forgot about that brush, Freddie! I believe it is an Omega knot.

Thanks for letting me know. After acquiring I wound up getting rig of all my other boars. It was the only one I would reach for. Maybe give a similar knot a try for your brush if you have used one and liked.

I too believe it is an Omega, but I think it might be a custom, not sure though.

The only stand-alone boar knots that I know of that you can acquire are from Whipped Dog and TGN. I am sure you can easily transplant any of the Omega or Semogue brushes depending on which one you prefer. I definitely think the Omega brushes would be easiest to extract the knot from compared to the Semogues.
Good luck.

If want a dense knot with good backbone and soft tips get a Whipped Dog Boar. Larry will set the knot to your desired loft. Economically priced custom brushes.
