For those who imagine MdC is making a profit on shipping I'll share the following pictures from today's delivery

This is the outer carton for my item with the inner box there on top.

Here's the size of the item:

$20 eur for registered delivery from France for a box that size? Cheap. I could fit 4 pairs of women's shoes in that outer box.

Cheers,
Ray

that is a beautiful container you got there.

agreed, MdC has the best shipping & handling i've seen from any vendor, anywhere, shaving related or not.

nothing against the other great vendors, but MdC shipping/packaging was beyond my wildest expectations.

enjoy the soap.

I didn't get the fancy dish, just the "standard" glass with metal spin on lid and they put it inside a heavy cardboard box and that was packed similarly to yours.

I ship things world wide and their shipping is a bargain.

Ray,
Just received the same package and took a picture because I couldn't believe how big the box was for a little jar of soap. Also, nearly threw away the peanuts before finding a small bar of Fougere soap they threw in as an extra.

On another topic, my wife and I LOVE that table you have the box on. I'll trade you my vintage Kirby razor and a custom brush straight up for it. What do you say?

I almost missed the Fougere too!

I think you might have to sweeten the deal on the table. It seats 12.Tongue

Their shipping is phenomenal, and actually very very inexpensive for what it is. Next time I receive an order from MdC I'm going to take it to the PO to see how much it would cost to ship to france. I'd be willing to bet its at least double the cost as MdC to the USA

Well played.
Seriously, that' a beautiful table. It reminds me of one my bride and I saw around 15 years ago in an antique shop in one of the smaller towns near our own small town. It was 800 dollars which at the time we just could have barely afforded...actually, not afforded at all, but could have paid for it. We didn't buy it and I've regretted it ever since.

Enjoy the soap. Had my first shave with it yesterday and though I can't imagine ever loving lavender, it's an extraordinary performer and the first soap I've used where I didn't even bother with a post shave treatment.

How long did it take the package to get from MdC to you?

Got the same box in this week, after ordering last friday, so that was pretty quick. Got the Fougere sample soaps too. I think they use one size box unless you really order much more. A great service and their packing sure sets a standard.

Still have to try the soaps though.

I agree on the table, Ray!

Bye,

Eric

Don't throw away the second sample! Check the packaging.

I got the fougere and Tula or whatever it is. Both are in my shave cabinet scenting it up even through the tissue paper. Smells exactly like the MdC shave soap. I like it and the wife has mentioned a number of times that she likes it too.

The next order will probably be larger.

OK, so anyone who reads French, what does Fougere and Tula mean in English?

TIA.

Got mine today, too. Wow, only 7 days to get here in Dallas. I don't feel so bad about the high shipping cost now.

I had one minor slip-up (my fault) when I placed the order. They were very nice to deal with.

xraygun...is that the stag dish? I've been trying to track that down, but they only have the Savon à raser "Le Coquillage" (shell) on their site...would you mind posting the link?
