One of the 4 recent Plisson 2 band HMW has just arrived. Mustafa scored one as well. Presented here with my other 3 Plissons for your enjoyment. Finally a new rack just reserved for Plisson.

Wow what a knot on that handle! Congrats Sir!
I am no expert but would anyone know why Plisson uses better knots on the higher sizes?! I obviously have no verification of this and only judging by looks! Every single larger knot size, 16 and above seem to have a much better looking knot than the smaller sizes

Internet sales does have an advantage. If I were in a brick and mortar store and actually held the #20 in my hand I probably would have passed on a purchase. The brush is a bit larger and heavier than my other brushes. I just shaved with it for the first time. It lathered easily and well (see photos). Lost 6 hairs. However, on close inspection, the hairs looked like they were loose in the knot rather than glued in or broken. The resulting shave was remarkable. The brush did not hurt my hand. My beard was soft and easily shaved.  A BBS shave was obtained using a Mongoose with Kai Mild Blade, AOS  Sandalwood soap combined with a bit of CO Bigalow cream in a Georgetown Scuttle with minimum effort. I think I will like this brush despite it's rather large size. It is certainly soft enough with enough backbone to satisfy and no scritch. This might be a keeper after all.

From personal experience, I would not say that Plisson uses better knots on the larger size HMW brushes. Looks-wise, what we're seeing here is a 2-band size 20 and 3-band sizes 10, 12, and 16. I think Plisson stays true to their knot specifications for each size, which makes sourcing hair for the larger sizes difficult. Perhaps they find it necessary to use 2-band hair in their larger knots? Is this better? Plisson has indicated they think 2-band is a lesser grade than 3-band. Customers say otherwise.

Andrew, yes this IS better. Thanks for responding Sir. So maybe I should have said their 2 band HMW looks superior to their 3 band HMW offering? I think this is better, also true or their recent productions. Vintage HMW on the other hand, whether 2 or 3 band always looked super to me.
Now as far as one being a lesser grade than the other, that's beyond my as I am not an expert. I only used Plisson HMW in 3 band so can't really compare it to what they consider "lesser" 2 band grade.

Based on my recent experience with 2&3 band Plisson HMW 20. I don't think that 2 band is inferior badger . Maybe plisson was down playing the whole thing. To me , face feel is same. Two band inches ahead in softness.
