Hello!

Just signed up today, though I have been lurking about for around a month now. For about 4 months now, I've been a member of another similarly themed forum so I am not a complete noob.

Actually, I have been traditional shaving for the past 2 years, but without much "excitement" - one razor, one brush, 3 soaps/creams, 2 aftershaves. Now don't get me wrong. While I was basically just doing my daily shave, I was extremely satisfied that I had (finally) made the shift to traditional shaving. When I first started, those 2 years ago, I had done a quick couple of weeks research (as a lurker) on my other forum just to find out what gear was good (and relatively cheap), where to buy it from, and for some basic technique tips. Once I had my gear I just did not have the time to keep up with the forum so I was kind of out of touch with the traditional shaving world. Though I was away from the forum, I was grateful that it was around and knew that I would not have been so satisfied with my shift to traditional shaving without its help.

Well, now that I have more time, I have really gotten into it these past 4 months. Yep, I've got the usual "AD"s. It started, and continues (though has been reined in a bit), with RAD. (I've already made a razor trade before I even had a chance to say this hello.) I've got more soaps and creams than any man could ever need for 10 years. I've even, quite surprisingly, been hit with a minor case of ASAD. And the latest to hit is SBAD - a month ago I did not think anything about brushes, but since I picked up, somewhat on a whim, that Wee Scot on BST... Actually, I think my SBAD is under some control. (We've all heard that before...)

So, other than my initial 2 year period of being "out of touch", I guess my introduction to traditional shaving is not that much different than most of the members around here! Biggrin

Sounds about normal, and we'll have fun tweaking your ADs too.

So welcome to The Shave Den! We're really just a bunch of great shave junkies.
