Melyus, How you compare silver tip softness with any other brand? I heard two band are very dense and requires some good bathing time before shaving .

@Cricket203,

Epsilon silvertip badger hair is little bit thicker than the standart silvertip badger hair but thinner than the Epsilon 2 Band badger hair.

i have 50mm loft 2 band super and i have used many good scent soaps to remove its unique badger  hair scent. Also this helps to soft the badger hair tips as well but 50mm needs good bath before shaving as you said.

50mm short loft  Silvertip is also extra dense as 2 band badger this  short loft  gives extra backbone but the hair tips are quite  soft and fair  amount scritchy so if you like dense but soft tips with this lovely scritchy  sure

you will like this brush.(there are some brown and black hairs in the knot maybe scritch coming from them)

Remember guys, especially the 2-band and short lofted 3-band needs soaking 5-10 minutes before using. Unless you want a raw experience

Gentlemen,
I have eyed these brushes for a while, but held off ordering one for fear of some "scritch." Is there any scritch in these brushes?

There's a little bit of "scritch" not a lot, not to the point of feeling uncomfortable.
The tips are 'pillowy'soft, it's a great brush and offers a very pleasurable shaving experience.

Andy,
Thank you for the information. My skin can handle some "scritch," but anything major and I'm out of sorts.
Stay well,
Obie

Just ordered the faux horn 27x50. Is It true the first batch wound up being much larger than 26mm? I wonder if this 27mm will be closer to 30mm.

I'm excited about the impressions of the first batch. I love scrubby brushes with tons of backbone.

The 2-bands first batch both lofts have some scritch.

Soak them 10+ minutes and they are more comfy, but this is not a brush for guys like German Geo, who prefers Über soft brushes !

I like variety in my den, so I embrace a couple of badgers with some scrub, as long as it's tolerable to my skin.

Just received my faux horn two band 27x50 brush. It's currently sitting in a Tabac bath (my strongest scented soap) in order to remove that dreadful smell.

The Epsilon has a ton of backbone with very soft tips. My early impressions are that it has more backbone than some Simpson Manchurian brushes I've used and it has tips as soft as any brush I've owned.

I was nervous about the bulb shape but it's not overdone. I'm not a fan of the pointy bulb like Savile Row brushes. This brush has a rounded top but it's very flat at the tips of the brush if that makes sense.

The only negative for me is the handle. I find that it's too small for comfort. I may have the knot placed in a handle more suitable to my tastes. Overall, a great brush! Pics to follow!
