Sorry if this has been asked loads of timess....did a search but failed.

I don't know how to post a photo so that it simply appears, rather than go through, say, photobucket where it provides a link for others to click on to view the photo.

I'm sure it's not difficult....but it's beaten me  Blush

Thanks.

When you are typing your post and you want to post a picture you can use the tool bar above your post. There is a black icon with a lower case "i" In the center row, 3rd from the left. Just hit that then follow the steps. Makes life a lot easier! Hope that helps.

Thanks for quick reply.  Much appreciated.  Done as you said and put a photo shortcut on the desktop and somehow managed to move it to the thread (but can't quite remember how I did it).  But it's too big....how do we reduce it please.  Sorry to be so thick.

Clicking on the IMGUR icon with the black "i" brings me up a dialogue box entitled OPEN and from there I just went to DESKTOP heading on the left but I'm not sure what happened then.

Apologies for lack of nous.

EDIT.  Do I need to create an IMGUR account to get it to work?

I do all my posting and such from my phone so may be a few differences between it and a desktop for posting. Your picture looks fine to me. If you want it smaller then you can do so with your desktop. Easiest way is to copy it, paste it in "paint", then reduce the size and save it. You do not need an IMGUR account. Try that out and see if that helps.

I insert all of my photos from Photobucket. It is easy, just copy the IMG link and paste it.

Here is my attempt doing as you say...using the IMG option.  Up to now I've used the top option in the photobucket list  on the right hand side....and that gave me the link in the post rather than the actual image.

Is it still too big though?

Thanks for advice.

Can you offer an idiots guide to getting from Paint  to the Reply box in a thread please.

When you reply just click on the...... "i" upload to imgur.... button and it will open a new window into your computer where you can upload the picture you saved from paint.

Sorry for my hit and miss posting. I'm at work and have been trying to help out on my breaks. As Tim stated, once you saved your picture after reducing in paint, (you can save to desktop, picture file, where ever), just click the IMGUR icon and go from there to where you saved your pic and choose it.

Viewing over my phone, I see no issues with your 2nd pic. To me it fits the thread/post with no issues. Looks fine!

You can resize in Photobucket also if you need to. There is even an option to automatically resize them as you upload them. 640x480 is pretty standard.

Looking good!

Enclosed was copied to "Paint" then saved and renamed and saved to desktop then pressed  the black "i" then double clicked the little desktop image and it came here.

I think we're on our way chaps.

Very many thanks.

Ah....another option then.

Thanks.

I did rather hit a brick wall but can now see a little light.  (slight case of mixed metaphors there...sorry about that)   Blush

To be honest I was up a gum tree prior to asking the question here, earlier today.  but now have a much better idea.

Appreciate the assistance, tips and general help given.

Think I'll celebrate by popping up and giving the new brush a spin.

Thank you all.

Very many thanks.  I've stuck a post over at the shavemac  two band thread and will put one or two more photos on there later.

Good wishes.

Thanks...I certainly use it - and hope for sufficiently good health for a while to come.
