I am looking to but a Ikon shavecraft tech, but all the reviews I have read have made it out to be a chainsaw with a handle. Is this razor really that aggressive? I don't want to spend the money only to be left with a razor I can't use.

It is a very aggressive razor and I find the aggression to be similar to the R41, but smoother. The blade exposure is very pronounced and if you don't like aggressive shavers, I wouldn't recommend it.

I love it. It's my favorite razor. Quite aggressive, but smooth and efficient. It does demand respect.

Do you have sensitive skin? What expierence do you have with aggressive razors. R41 is my favorite razor and I find the tech more efficient than the r41. For me the term aggressive sounds like its a bad shaver or rough shaver, the tech is not. With aggresive razors do not try to tame it down by using a mild blade its been my experience they work better with a sharper blade. The tech will cut you faster than the r41 will, you cannot use pressure with it at all. It's a good shaver and a smooth shaver IF you can do your part. I recommend the tech to people that want more than what the r41 has to offer, but if you've never tried the muhle I recommend it hands down over the tech. This is just me though.

Chainsaw it isn't -- but it is on the aggressive side.  Otis's advice is spot on if you don't already have a love of aggressive razors, I'd go R41 and then see if you want to go the Tech route, or go with a nice Ikon slant.
