I'm doing this on Windows 10...

I have confirmed it is working. No extra extensions to slow down your browser are needed. It is supposed to block ads on "apps" too but I can not confirm that as I don't have any. It seems to block ads on youtube (video ads too).

Trying this...will report back.  Thanks!
BTW, this only works on stand-alone workstations.  The 'hosts' file is ignored on systems attached to a domain.
*Edit
Working fine.  No ill effects.  This would also work on any Windows OS from XP to 10.

I've been using the Edge browser for a while now. It is faster and I like the simplicity of it but like IE it always crashes. The IE "angel" always pops up. I am going back to Opera. The fix works for Opera too, or anything else since it is systemwide. It even blocks Hulu ads (though it just gives you a black screen instead).
