Hector, this is going to be a rough ride for you.

Please allow me to call this brush the Badger RUFF' RIDER Badger

I have owned 3 D01 2-Bands in bulb, and I'm a face lather that likes brushes with some scritch and backbone - but I will never buy a D01 2-Band again in bulb shape.

I now only own one D01 2-band and it's a 26 mm fan shaped knot in 54 mm loft.

This 24/46 D01 2-Band will not be for the faint hearted, you HAVE to like scrucb and scricth in your brushes - or this will end up on BST in 1-2 weeks time.

Enjoy the heck out of it, because you need to give this brush 10-15 shaves, and by then it will still feel rough as heck..........

IMHO a bulb shaped D01 2-band needs at least a 1:2.2 knot-loft ratio to be tolerable for even a person who likes a rough massage in his brushes  Wink

As Claus stated its a fun road ahead. It will soften up eventually but give it some time .

Beautiful brush Hector.  You will be getting serious backbone and scrub with the low loft.  However, I 've never felt any scritch with low loft DO1 two-bands.  Give the brush some time before you finalize your view of it.

Thanks for the kind words gents.  I love the bulb shape and I ordered it knowing pretty much what I was going to get.  I don't mind a little bit if scritch, I actually like it, but it depends on the brush.

I agree.

I like a little variety too. I do typically err on the side of more loft with Shavemacs as Bernd sets the knot 1-2mm larger effective vs. nominal but you can't go wrong no matter how you configure within reason IMHO.

Enjoy that brush!

It's great having brushes of very different dynamics in the den for the various moods and for the variety.  I too keep a wide range of brushes to keep it interesting from heavy scrub to a super soft face feel.  All part of the experience.

Mine took about two weeks, from order to delivery.  It got held in Memphis due to bad weather, so that added a few days.

If you see my brushes, you can see that I have a bit of everything.  But every brush I own serves a purpose, I don't buy brushes for collection, but for a reason.

Thanks Kevin! Biggrin
