I started with a Parker fine tip at 6 years old. my school desk had a proper blotter and a hole in the right corner for my bottle of ink which was soon replaced by cartridges. I guess you cant dip little girls pigtails into a cart. I still have and use fountain pens and prefer them to any other pen. many have complimented my handwriting.

we used pencils throughout the day and the pen when we had penmanship lessons. By the 3rd grade pens only. in the 6th grade ball points were permitted although I refused to use them until the 8th grade when I changed schools and was forced to make the change. I still don't much care for being forced to do anything.

Your son will enjoy this pen and many more I'm sure.
