Hello gents,
I am currently in the process of selecting a knot for a Wiborg brush, but I do not know much of the grades they use.
My favorite knots from my experience so far, are the Thater 4125 two band silver tip and the Shavemac two band silvertip, in bulb shape. Those two rok great for me as I like knots with zero scritch with some backbone.
What grade from Wiborg would be similar to the ones I listed? Florian suggested their finest badger for the knot, does anyone know how that stacks up to the Shavemac and Thater two band silvertips?

Thanks in advance.

I owned three four wiborgs and they are great . My recommendation would be go with Wiborg white badger . My ideal knot and loft is 28x50. 28x50 isn't dense as like other brushes so flow through will be perfect. I have one coming just passed custom should arrived In a day or so 28x50.
Looks like this

I have a 28x48 fan, 30x52 fan and a 28x50 bulb (I face lather exclusively).  They are all soft, great backbone and wonderful flow through.  Mine are all "Finest" as that is all he sold when he was just starting out.  I'm not sure there's a lot of difference, or if there is one, between "White" and "Finest".  Might be one of those things brush makers do to generate more business by offering something no one else has.  Good luck!  I don't think you will be disappointed.  Of the 100 plus brushes I've tried/bought/sold I can say Wiborg's are absolutely wonderful.  I had two other Wiborg's, a Manchurian 24mm (too small), and a 30mm silvertip (just okay) that I did let go of.  However, the 3 Finest I have will never leave my den.

I have a Wiborg in HMW.  It has decent backbone but plush on the face feel.  I also own a Simpson Duke in 2-band Silvertip.  It is more densely packed so it has a little more backbone, but the tips feel very similar to the Wiborg in face feel.

Great backbone and hooked tips for ultra softness. Doesnt mean they all are but i like what most say are finest since they are usually 2 band and soft

I've been yearning to try w Wiborg in HMW. You say the D2 is more densely packed than the Wiborg HMW? Which did you prefer, Wiborg or D2? I have a LE D3 Manchurian, but always wanted a D3 2band silvertip.

I like a little denser brush.  The Duke is actually a D3 in 2-band Silvertip.  I like it due to the density.  However, the Wiborg holds it's own.  It is very soft on the face with decent backbone.

Wiborg white is in its own league imo. Far better than a D3!

I have a CH1 2-band and to me it has a different face feel than my Wiborg's.  The CH1 is soft and the hair is thinner.  Great feel on the face.  My Wiborg's are thicker haired yet incredibly soft and "gel-tipped".  I'd say my Duke 3 Manchurian is a lot more similar in comparison to the Wiborg's than my Simpson 2-band.  Maybe when I get off of work I can post some pics of my Wiborg's, CH1 2-band and D3 Manchurian.

Wiborg white was the softest two band knot I ever owned that wasn't a gel tip brush.
