Anybody using this camera?  Just replaced my Fuji X10 with an X30 and so far more than pleased with it for what I want it for. I wanted a small camera to carry when I do not want to drag along my Nikon D700/D300 and lenses for easy informal shooting using Jpegs. Normally I like optical VFs but the X10s was a pita to use. The X30's digital VF I found is a great improvement as I like shooting with a camera to my eye. For that alone it was worth the move to me.

Bob, congratulations on the new camera! I would love to eventually try a good quality compact camera, at some point. Enjoy! Thumbsup

Thanks, guess there are not many users of the Fuji X30.

I have an X10 but mostly use an X100S now...they are both great cameras. I'm sure the X30 is stellar. It s cool that you don't miss the ovf.

Yes, I can see why. Oth for me it is too expensive for an occasional informal camera and not as flexible as my Nikon system. That is why I went and traded the X10 for the X30.

I don't mind the optical VF on my Leicas but the one on the X10 just did not do it for me. Just not the same experience for some reason. Electonic Viewfinders have come a long way in that last few years much like synthetic brushes have. They are very usable in most situations for me now.

I'd like to try a newer Fuji with an upgraded EVF but can't really justify it until the X100s fails. I only gear good things.

Thanks.
I now realize I've posted an awful lot of iPhone photos the last few months. I guess it's even more convenient than the Fuji, and actually makes a respectable photo under the right circumstances.
The X30 and X100 are in another league though.

That is another area that has greatly improved, phone cameras. Especially for web or TV viewing. For casual shooting they can be just the thing like the small censored cameras such as the Fuji X30. There is a place and time for everything.
