Hi all,

Just to share with you about a brush I found during my hollydays in France  Biggrin
Handle is in horn and can be unscrew.
It is in lovely condition, looks like new.
I don't know much about hair grade but it's super soft on the face, like the STF Plisson but with a bit more backbone.
Here is some pictures (still wet after cleaning) :

Excellent acquisition Chris, stunning really!

If that were mine I would apply a thin coat of epoxy to the base of the knot to reinforce the cracking that is already taking place.  I would also give it a couple treatments of Neatsfoot oil inside and out.

I am now the happy owner of this vintage Plisson. On arrival from Chris, it still looked unused. I peeled the "hand made in France" sticker off the back, gave it a generous coating of 100% Neatsfoot oil, and applied a thin layer of epoxy to the knot base. The Neatsfoot oil transformed the horn into a shining, translucent thing of beauty.

I measure the knot at 20.5 x 59mm, which is the loft of a size 14 and diameter closer to size 10. Here it is between a size 14 and a size 12 HMW:

I plan to use it for the first time tomorrow morning.
