I can't really choose a favorite among the Somerset Chubbies, because I really like all of them. In terms of hair, as one would expect, the Manchurian is the plushest and richest in feel, but with a slight scritch, and it is the densest, so it really hogs the lather. The 3-Band Supers have the softest tips and are great with soft creams, while the Bests and the 2-Band Super have the most backbone. Each of the Bests is unique, and as a group they probably have the most "character," as well as great flowthrough and a workmanlike quality and lathering ability that I like. The Somerset era hair grades were not as clearly defined as they are today, so there is some overlap of qualities (especially with the Bests and 3-Band Supers), and these brushes fall along a continuum rather than being sharply grouped. Among the handles, the size 2 is probably my "Goldilocks" preference, fitting best in my medium sized hand, and being neither too big nor too small. Despite their varying qualities, all the Chubbies are fantastic brushes.

John - It looks like you're your part in keeping Simpson's in the black!
