I can't stop buying them. :-) I started out wanting a DLC SB, but didn't want to spend that much. I settled for the Shavecraft Tech and just flat out loved it. That just kicked my RAD disease into high gear. Then I narrowly missed out on a great deal on the SB I wanted, but found an equally good deal on a coated OC. I have found that with my coarse beard I tend to get a better shave with an aggressive closed comb than with OCs, but I still really liked it. Next I finally just bit the bullet and got the coated SB. The tech now had competition. I love the SB. Maybe even more than the tech. Smooth aggressive and super close shave. Now I just got the 101. I was afraid it might be too mild for me, but it's super efficient and is also a great shaver. Now I have to try a slant. I also  would like  to try out the SE and bamboo handles as I only have the bulldog and OSS. I think I have a problem.

This is not the thread I expected to see when reading the title. Good to see that you enjoy their product! They make some very efficient razors

The couple of Ikons I tried were splendid beauties but mild. The Tech though is an " aggressive masterpiece". The form  Spartan but the function part directly on target if you want a supremely aggressive and smooth shave from a safety.

It's a good problem to have...Nice collection. Ikon make some wonderfully crafted razors. Enjoy them.

My personal favourites are the shavecraft range.

I have a Shavecraft 101, a Deluxe OC, and an SBS.  I had the 102, but I sold it.

Of these, I like the SBS and the 101 best.  I'll probably sell the Deluxe OC, not because it's not a good razor, but because I acquired a real NEW Deluxe and so now it seems superfluous.

I'm really enjoying the SBS.  The only thing that could improve it would be if it were not quite so heavy; maybe if it were made of stainless steel instead of copper, or, ideally, if it were made of titanium.  That would be epic.

I guess you would be the one to know. Is there such a thing as an "iKon Open Comb", and is the Massdrop for this "Open Comb" or the Short Comb? From what you can make out...

I have 2 ikon heads and 2 different handles. The tech on an OSS and the DLC slant on a bulldog. All parts are perfect as far as machining goes. I don't have a lot of experience with stainless razors but the way ikon heads even fit into the handle for me is just an example of their machining.

The DLC slant is machined perfectly, the only flaw some might find with it is the coating. It says it's diamond like carbon but it feels more like Teflon to me. It's not an issue for me but some will have a problem with the coating on a razor of this price chipping off. The blade alignment can be tricky sometimes with it, sometimes it lines up perfectly ,other times you might haft to use a fingernail to bump the blade into alignment.  Again not an issue for me but some will have a problem with it.

I found the slant to be very mild and with the coating it's so smooth that personally I had to rely on audio feedback to find and keep my angle. Wife ended up taking it over as it was just way to mild for my tastes.

The tech is a very nice razor as well.very aggressive and depending on what blade you use it can be downright rough. Find the right blade for you though and the shaves are second to none.

The newer iKons are said to be Teflon coated. As far as I can tell that's what mine are supposed to be. Ikon has said it doesn't have the chipping issues like the DLC did. Mine do not have any issues yet. The one on massdrop is the Shavecraft short comb.

Yea those came out around the same time as the tech. Supposedly shaves like a old Gillette OC. I don't know and don't own either.

I have to admit I caught the iKon bug a few months back. Got a 102, 101, and stainless slant. 101 has to be one of my favorite shavers. Been eyeing a dual comb iKon for some time now but my new dual comb Wolfman has been keeping RAD at bay.

Good problem! I have the DLC Slant. Very good razor. I recently traded my 102 slant. It was too mild. However, it is a good everyday razor. Specially if you had to run every morning.

I had lots of ikon razors,  but for some reason they just didnt shave closely for my face.

101 and 102 were both mild,  but almost gave me irritation from trying to get closer shave.  Ikon dlc slant,  although it feels extremely smooth,  it seemed difficult to get close shave. Would have to do lots of touch ups to get a decent shave.

Recently acquired 102, so i will give them another try.  Hoping for better result this time.

I have the Shavecraft Short Comb, and i'm thinking to buy the OC DLC. Do you think it is worth?

I'm an iKon fan too -- not so pleased with their slants, but their other razors are wonderful! The iKon SB is right up alongside the Mühle R41 in aggressiveness and it is one of the four or five razors that I rotate through. I also regularly use my Merkur slant and ATT S1, with the odd vintage Gillette thrown in for added variety.

I think the crown jewel of the iKon line is the ShaveCraft 101 -- I have two of these, and one lives in my travel bag. I would call it a mid-efficiency shaver, and that's perfect for me as a travel razor. A recent trip including a week on a canal boat confirms my belief that the truly aggressive razors are best left at home -- the ShaveCraft 101 performs flawlessly for me under any conditions I've encountered.

Having said all that, I am quite tempted by the ShaveCraft Tech & OC. . . . probably just a matter of time.

Bullgoose has just the heads now for a good price. It's definitely worth it IMO if you get it from them. I think they only have 3 models though .
