Up for sale is an amazing, unique, custom genuine pre ban Ivory Persian Jar 2 hand turned by Rudy Vey with a Shavemac D01 2 Band knot at 21mmx51mm. The Ivory grain on this brush is spectacular!  Brush is in pristine condition with no cracks or chips. Renaissance Wax has been applied weekly and will be included with brush.  Brushes like this don't come up very often $350 conus.  Will consider trades of equal value. Price dropped to $300 for holiday 24hrs only

Do you have any paperwork on the ivory?  I've been interested in an Ivory Brush for a while but I've been worried about it being detected (they actually have ivory sniffing dogs now!) and without paperwork it being confiscated.

Thanks!

I am also interested in the same. How does one verify that this item is legal?

You could probably also contact Rudy Vey and see if he'll certify as to its provenance.

I feel to add a couple thoughts.

First.  The ONLY material that comes remotely close to genuine ivory is genuine horn.  There is something about touching, holding real ivory that is near magical.  I know.  I have one.

Second.  Putting some packets of cinnamon or cloves or sage with a brush, will completely disrupt any dog sniffing.  :-)

Beautiful brush, very fairly priced.  It will be a fine piece in someone's den.

I cannot imagine Rudy making a brush out of a banned substance.

Nice way of encouraging breaking the law, lol...

Chis is a nice brush, a letter would make it a great one for sure.

I've dealt with Deuce428, and can easily vouch that he is a stand-up member whom I have had zero issues purchasing from what he sells. He does what he says...and then some.

Fyi this is what you will need:

I dont think you would have an issue with shipping personally, but some may not want to take that risk.  Oh and the advice on the dogs is not to be relied on.

Very nice brush.

I have dealt with Chris, excellent guy to deal with. Nobody is questioning his integrity, not me for sure.

Some of you are missing the point of the concern, not by me, but for those interested in purchasing this beauty.

Chris knows what he's doing and his word is golden in my book.

Thank you Jim, Lance, and Hector for the kind words.  As I stated before I'm confident enough to offer a full money back guarantee if the brush does not make it to you.  I dont feel like there will be an issue sending it conus, maybe international as why I am only offering it conus at this time.

I emailed Rudy Vey as shown above and when purchasing the ivory most did not supply paperwork and he believes you still don't need it as he says there is still ways to purchase it legally. I honestly don't think shipping would be an issue with such a small piece so especially after talking with Rudy. I am even more comfortable now refunding fully if the brush doesn't arrive. Thanks.

U.S. Wildlife and Fisheries regulates Ivory.  I would check their site and read about the law, just for your peace of mind.

I'm going to just to learn about it.

Depending on the size, it's likely a vintage Bullard or pool ball

It is a beautiful brush - wish I had the funds to justify it!
