I had to post here tonight. I just got done with my shave using the La Toja stick. I can't believe that not long ago I said that the performance of La Toja was average at best. Boy was I ever wrong. Since I got the hang of it it's performance is nothing short of outstanding.

I had the creamiest and slickest lather I ever had. I have to rate this soap now as the best I ever tried and I think I tried all the popular ones. After tonight's shave I'm afraid my other sticks are going to be sitting on the shelf for awhile waiting their turn. Great stuff.

Yes, La Toja is a fine shave stick that performs well. Glad you were finally able to get along with it.

I've since moved on to Artisan soaps but the La Toja stick used to be my preferred soap in this format, especially for travel. Only a very small amount of product is needed to make more than enough lather for three passes. Although I was not one of them, some users experience irritation from this stick, I believe down to the mineral salts in contains.

I don't think I will be buying many more shave sticks now. I feel La Toja is all I need. This is one great soap. It's performance tops all others IMO. It out performances the Artisan soaps I have.
Best bang for your buck.

I have to agree. It is one of my favorite sticks too. The La Toja cream is a winner also.

Great stick indeed. Cheap, good performance, quality packaging, very easy to lather. One of my first choices when I travel.

You have the one with the round or the flat top?

I have the one with the round top. Is there a difference other than that between the two?

Other than that, it's exactly the same soap.

I bought some sticks and they were round top and a few months later I bought some more for stock and they were flat top.

I don't have more information about this difference. If anyone knows something about it, it would be very interesting.

I would guess the flat tops are the newer ones. Not that it makes a difference.

Yeah, I agree with that. I have a lot of pictures with a La Toja stick in it. It is very photographic.

Even when I was still having a hard time getting it to work me I kept coming back to it because I loved the scent so much. It's the best performer and the best scent.

I used a new La Toja stick this morning (flat top for the record) and had a great shave. I had previously experienced what I believed to be irritation from this stick, but I believe now that it was just the tingling from the mineral salts. The sensation is not unlike that which I experience when applying alum after the shave. The lather performed well, the scent is very pleasant and my skin feels great. I am going to be using this stick as my soap of the week so will report back my results at the end.

Great! It seems you found a contender for the desert island shaving soap. Shy

For travelling I always take La Toja shave stick. I know I can rely on it and I enjoy the scent.

I had purchased LaToja and Lea shave sticks last year and the LaToja gets more use .The lather is richer more cushioning etc than the Lea stick.A stick that is a perfectly acceptable performer.
