What hairbrushes are favored by members who use them?

I'm looking to buy a new hairbrush; too many choices, it seems.

I use your basic paddle brush. My wife has every hair brush type made and the paddle works best for my hair type. As far as brand names go I can't help you there I don't know where she bought them. Everytime I've ever needed a brush (which isn't often) I've just went to the dollar store or Walmart and grabbed a brush.

I'm interested in this as well. I have thicker hair. I was looking at Kent boar hair brushes. However, I read that natural hair brushes should not be used on wet hair or hair with products. I'm looking for a good brush that could be used on wet hair.

l'll second the Kent, I use both the military style brush and their pocket combs. Excellent quality.

I have been using a no-name natural bristle brush for years, but I found that the tubular brush -- you know, the one with bristles sticking out in all directions -- works best for me.  I have two, one with very short bristles (about 3/4") and one with longer bristles (about 1 1/2").   This kind of brush is used by hair stylists to shape the hair while combing, and I find it works very well.

I still have a Kent laying around, very nice, but now I wear my hair very short and I don't brush it anymore, some gel and voila.

This is essentially what I've been doing too, Hector.

I'm hoping for a miraculous hairbrush that will slow my hair loss and perhaps trigger new growth.  Tongue

More particulars:  mine is an Ibiza EX-2, round hairbrush, made in Spain, with a cork handle.    Doesn't grow more hair.  Nothing grows more hair.  I have learned to be happy with facial hair:  that at least gives me the pleasure of shaving.  On the top of the head, the only answer is a hat.  And if you want to start a thread on hats, I would be delighted to do so!

Do start a hat thread, Stanley!

I enjoy Panama hats right now, and am curious to see what else is out there.

Will do, Ravi.   I may need a day or two to get some photos together.   There's a long story behind this, but I am definitely a hat man, and I would like to know what others think.  I'll put that in the Cafe.

It's like you are reading my mind. I am also on the market to buy a new hairbrush. Comb or brush?
