Hello all,
Been reading that there are some fakes out there. Wonder what some tells of a fake look like.
One seller emailed me.

Please note though, if you are buying from Amazon.com, there have been people selling fakes lately and on September 8 only a few people will be allowed to sell Proraso on amazon anymore because of the Proraso issues. I know what the cost price and the shipping is and $10,60 shipped is fishy because after the 15% amazon fee the seller would be losing money if he bought it legit.

Cheers and Happy Shaving!
The company I bought was Amazon fulfillment by The Original Shave Co.
Proraso Liquid After Shave Cream, 3.4 Ounce

I know everyone loves Amazon, but if you buy from one of our many top quality vendors, like Bullgoose, Maggards, etc., you won't need to worry about fake products. And the prices are for the most part going to be around the same, particularly I think, for Proraso. Can't see the point of Amazon for quality soap and cream when there are well known vendors out there with a solid reputation and competitive pricing to purchase them from.
MHO.

Are you sure this is the truth? It could be a vendor lying in order to eliminate the competition some. I've never heard of fake Proraso... $10 shipped from the UK to the US is very reasonable when it costs only 4 pounds there from Connaught. I am sure if it is from Italy it is much cheaper still...
I would like to see some proof. Where have you "been reading?"

I just buy it locally at any Shoppers Drug Mart http://www1.shoppersdrugmart.ca/en/healt...4395001149  .  Never a problem and no shipping.

I agree about our vendors and I like to support them, but fact of the matter for me is I paid 100 bucks for Amazon prime and I need to get my money worth out of it for the time being.

What amazon doesn't have I will check vendors and Amazon is more expensive on some things too.

I do like to support vendors and any small business for that matter when I can. I can't tell you when my 12 months is up on prime that I will renew it. I will tell you there are certain vendors I will pay a few extra bucks just to deal with them.

Some nice shave vendors have now taken to amazon now,one of the best I've dealt with has brought ATT to amazon now. Win
win for me  I get my free 2 day shipping AND I buy from a vendor I trust.

For what it's worth, I think in America we grossly overpay for Proraso, Cella, and other European brands. Likely this is due to high shipping costs to get them here, but if you buy from TVBShaving, Cella and Proraso (tube or jar) are only about $4 each.

I use Amazon, too, but I always -- but always -- buy shaving supplies from one of my favorite shaving suppliers (names not mentioned to avoid advertising).  I also buy my bikes at the local bike store.  If we don't support the specialists, they will disappear and we will be left with a collection of ignorant middlemen.  It's worth the difference to me.  Just my view.

Dear Ron,

As we do not supply e-commerce directly I'm unable to give you the proper answer.
However I might help you if you referr to me about the batch number.

I've bought a number of Proraso products via Amazon and have had zero problems.  Also I haven't seen where the OP said that he actually purchased a fake.  Is the whole basis for the OP's suspicion the price?

FWIW I just checked myself. Now we all know how the prices on amazon change frequently and I couldn't find one at the price the OP said (it probably changed ). That being said the first 100 or so listing are from Proraso themselves.

I don't get why anybody would fake proraso, I'm not calling the op a liar or disputing his claim. All I'm saying is your going to make a knockoff why knockoff a cheap soap. If it were me and I was making fakes I'm faking the high end stuff .

I should have taken a screen shot of the sellers before sept 8. They did have 42 and more were prime.
Think it's just a seller giving bad info.

Why do you think its a seller giving bad info?  Have you placed an order and not had it fulfilled?  Was it a different product?  Was it a fake?  Like I wrote before, I've ordered Proraso from Amazon without a problem.  And sometimes at very cheap (for US) prices, such as the soap or cream for around $7.50.  And its always been authentic stuff.

That is my whole point is there fakes out there, or just had a seller email me because I canceled from then to save like $5.
I work in eyeglasses and seen some really good fake Oakleys and Raybans. They are like buying a BLEM product from IKon.

A fake is like a blem from Ikon? I know a few people that bought blemsand they can't tell where the blem even is.

Have you gotten any fake soap or are you just concerned that you may?  If it's that big of an issue hit up bullgoose or another vendor and be sure your getting the real thing.

I'm saying the fakes could be good quality like buying a BLEM. Example Google speck cases.

I will send batch number to Proraso. Close this tread since apparently no one is aware, that their are fakes. I thought maybe members would post some pics of authentic boxes and labels to help me.
