In my quest for only owning the best of the best, I have sold my entire DE razor collection and also my beloved Mongoose (I owned 3 in total) - not because I disliked the way they shaved, but because I did not find they improved upon the quality of shave I got from my old trusty carts.

If you use a cart the way you use a DE, add a brush and soap/cream and as bonus make sure to have a nice pre & post shave routine, I bet most would not have swayed away from carts, if not for the price of carts.
I cut down the price of carts by finger strop them after each shave and strop them on the razor pitt after 2-3 shaves and get 12-14 quality shaves from one Fusion cart.

I have to be honest - I'm still a closet DE razor user  Tongue When I have time for it, I use one of my Fusion razors for the first pass, then use my one and only Merkur Futur Chrome DE for second and third pass, adding touch ups with the Fusion. I found that I preferred the Futur over the Mongoose for this because I can change the way the Futur shaves according to how much the Fusion removed in first pass, some days I have to shave off 1 days growth other days 2-3 days growth. The Fusion does not take the same amount of hairs in first pass, depending on how many days I need to shave off. For that I enjoy being able to set the Futur to either 1,2,3,4,5 or 6 setting.

Currently I have sold all my Fusion carts too, and only kept 3, that I find give me the best shave and has the nicest handle for my hands.

From left to right: Plisson Golden-Silver Palladium Striped, Mühle Carbon Fibre in brown-Black and the Edwin Jagger Bulbous Lined Chrome.

Later this year I will add the Acqua di Parma wooden Fusion razor to my collection and also the Wilde & Harte Apsley Fusion.

Lastly this is my travel razor and I also have an extra one in my bathroom for shaving the dome/head & other stuff Blush ......... Tongue

Feather Neo MR3 - the travel brush is my Shavemac 24 mm 2-Band Silvertip bulb 55 mm loft, the extra loft means it's softer and needs less soaking in water and the medium density means it dries faster. This combined with a 2-band hair with soft tips, means I still get nice backbone in the brush.

The fusions are one of my favourite. They are great shavers with good technique and get me a BBS with zero effort.

Great collection. Love the carbon one.

I always use a Fusion for neck and cheek and have quite a few...one of my favorite is the basic Fusion with all the plastic removed leaving a cool metal handle which is quite easy to grip and clean...every part pops off and amazing enough there is metal under all of the "rubber or vinyl"..... I leave the cartridge attaching parts intact.

That carbon fiber handle is B-E-A- utiful!  If I used carts enough to justify a purchase Id get one.  Someone needs to make custom handles for the Feather MR3!!!  That would be Legend.... wait for it, and if youre lactose intolerant back up because the last word contains DAIRY.... yes LEGENDARY!
