I just received this Swamp Kauri Tulip 3 brush from Rudy Vey. It has a Shavemac D01 25mm knot set with a loft of 56mm. The Kauri wood, which I think is beautiful, was in a forest that was buried up to 50,000 years ago in what is now New Zealand's North Island. Buried under a peat swamp at the end of the last Ice Age, the trees were sealed in a chemically balanced environment that preserved the timber in perfect condition. The trees grew for nearly 2000 years before being buried. Rudy did his usual great job on the brush.

Wow, what a beautiful brush. That wood has such a cool story to tell as well! Think of how different the world looked back then. Very fine acquisition, I hope it serves you well.

That's quite stunning John. Very nice. If you need to make room for it, you can send one of your Simpsons to me, for storage.Biggrin
