You're welcome Tim,
I'm glad you feel the method has helped you.  I haven't tried any melt and pour since I had some HTGAM soap about 2 years ago, I remember that it lathered fine, but nothing to get too excited about.  But since then, to my knowledge I haven't used a melt and pour formula.  However I imagine the same principles would apply and bring out the best in whatever soap you use.

I stumbled on this thread last week and glad I did!  I've been using the method for the last 4 days and its improved my loading, lather building, and the end result.  The biggest surprise to me--  the "painting" of the lather on the face.  I've always swirled and been quite happy.  Never understood the references to the painting technique until I saw the video.  Now I follow up the swirl with a final painting coat and it provides an even, consistent, and dense layer pre-shave.

Thanks!

By the way, whatever happened to Nathan?   I haven't seen him around here in quite some time.  I hope he is OK.

Hello my friend.  I am still around, just spending more time pursuing additional interests.  It has been a spectacular summer, I am sad to see it come to an end.

Nearly two years later and I still use this lathering method every morning.  Today's efforts produced this:  Mike's Natural Limes lathered with a Rooney Finest Style 3 Size 1

Happy to see that you are well and still making awesome lather.

I got lather that looked exactly like that this morning from Mike's Orange/Cedarwood/Black Pepper lathered with a synthetic using your method.  Nice to see you posting.
