I have used the new Platinum Tobacco & Leather for the past two days. It did not disappoint. I used a silvertip badger yesterday and a boar today. I face lather. After loading each brush for 20 seconds, I had more than enough thick, slick, cushioning lather for 3+ passes. The post shave conditioning is excellent. The new Maggard Platinum line will have a place in my rotation. I will still be using my original Limes & Bergamot too!!

Ingredients: Stearic Acid, Water, Potassium Hyddroxide, Coconut Oil, Kokum Seed Butter, Sodium Tallowate, Adeps Bovis, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Fragrance

I have not tried any of the Maggard soaps yet, but they way up towards the top of my list when I use some up.  Glad to hear the new Platinums are good performers.

Enjoying the scent?   Looks like Casie has another order to fill ; )
Btw how does the sherlock AS compare to the soap scentwise, if you don't mind me asking.

The scent is nice, more leather than tobacco. Sherlock is a good match as is the Southern Oud.

Nevermind.. Maggards website cites Maria Arman as the artisan.

Good News...NOT!

I'm trying to reduce my soap inventory, not increase it.

Has anyone who had face irritation from the original line tried the platinum? I'd like to give it a whirl, but all the old ones burned my face no matter the scent.

Good to hear Bob! I enjoyed their original London barbershop and mango sage tea. It is always disappointing to see the original formula messed with when it works so great to begin with! But it does sound like they put some other great ingredients in it. I might just have to try the Tabacco and leather. Enjoy.

Jeff-All the original soaps are still in production.  I am about ready to have to order my third jar of Limes & Bergamot. They just added a new line, not just a few new ingredients so they could market at a higher price.

Thanks for the solid overview Bob- I really like the sound of the Tobacco & Leather and will have to add it to the list of must tries.

They now offer these soap in samples so you can try before committing.
