I would like to introduce myself and thank "The Shave Nook" for accepting me as a member.
I am Derrel. I live on a small island in Japan where I do some woodworking. My first experience with shaving was with a DE razor during boot camp in 1971 at Fort Knox, Kentucky. It was not a pleasant experience. In 1990 I moved to Japan and found the "Panasonic Dual-Blade Electric Razor Wet/Dry with Flexible Pivoting Head" which was not bad but not enjoyable either. A couple of years ago I came across a wet shaving channel on YouTube and was amazed to see people really enjoying wet shaving with a DE razor and how it has changed since 1971. I am now a wet shaver and enjoy it very much. I look forward to reading and seeing your posts.

Well, I started with the Muhler R89 and now have six razors in my rotation. I don't particularly have one razor that I consider my favorite. I find that each razor gives me a pleasant shave but they are all different in feel when shaving. I have two German razors, Muhler R89 & R41, three USA razors, ATT-S2 & S1-Mongoose & Ikon DLC Slant, and one Japanese razor, Feather AS-D2. I am on the waiting list for the Wolfman WR1-DC. As for brushes, I prefer the boar brushes. I haven't decided yet on which soap or cream I like better. I am currently using PAA (Chocolate Bourbon, Cavendish, Gondolier), Proraso Green, Cella, and Arko which is not bad. I think once I have used up my soaps I would like to try the Saponificio Varesino Shaving Soaps.
