I am heading to work on Friday and see people standing in line outside a house. I drive down the block a bit more hoping to see a sign that says "estate sale" but nothing. I talk myself into going back to see and sure enough it was a sale.

I walk in and there is a single unpriced RFB Gold New Standard on a table. I ask for the price she says $3. Ask if there is anything else she says not that she knows. I poke around to see if I can find any other treasures but nothing caught my eye. As I walk through the kitchen I see the two hones. On my way out (not sure why I didn't before) I walk into the bathroom and sitting on the sink I see 2 red tips, 2 blue tips, 2 40ss, gold black beauty and the tech.

The moral of the story, if it looks like an estate sale... Stop!

Way to go!  You found more in one spot than I've found in the last year!

Immediately head out and buy yourself a Lottery ticket- you already hit once!

Great score.

I still maintain that the eBay pros beat me to all the good stuff. Around here, the estate sales all seem to start on Thursday morning. By the time I can get there on Saturday, nothing but polyester suits remain.

Hahah.... good one!

I am in my car often for work going to various sites so can stop. Also you have to pay attention to the houses, I have gotten to a point where I can tell if a house has razors. It is always spot on but more often than not.

Years past I went to an estate sale in Old Pasadena. I easily 'made' the pro antique dealers. Pasadena is a treasure trove of very old CA money slowly changing as the descendants sell off all that 'stuff'. So, I walked past the Persian dealers snapping up Afshars and Esfahans, the silver and crystal and a trunk of old movie scores a noted local composer literally threw his body over.
I saw a table to the side with this bored grandson. OMG! I loaded my Chrysler 300 until it was a Lowrider. grandfather was an armourer in WW2
and somehow borrowed a FEW items. $100 of my G.I. bill later I owned 30 Springfield long pattern bayonets, 8 M1 Garand barrels in cosmolene
a complete BAR kit sans receiver and, oh 10,000 rounds of M1 ball ammunition.
I was about to drive off when the widow walked up with a oily rag. " I just remembered this old thing. is $200 to much? henry won it in a poker game with a british officer" I ate beans that month.
The rag held a Webley-Fosbury .455 semi automatic revolver in it's holster and 50 rounds of 'manstopper' cartridges.
It's amazing how much stuff is still out there. We just have to look.

I am such a sucker for old stuff. My 8-year-old daughter wants to learn to play the drums. She'll probably be the only one in her school band with a vintage Rogers snare. I found it in a tiny music store near our house. $90... How can I resist that?
