I own both.

The DR Harris lavender soap is a hard soap and a personal favourite scent of mine.
It also performs superbly.

Castle Forbes is more like a croap, and also performs superbly - perhaps slightly better.
The scent of Castle Forbes is also fantastic.

I could not advice you to get one over the other - but hard pressed I would rate them like this:

DR Harris Lavender soap
Scent: 10/10
Performance: 9/10

Castle Forbes Lavender:
Scent: 9.75/10
Performance: 9.5/10

So CF Lavender versus DR Harris Lavender soap: 19.25 - 19.00

I have never tried CF, but DRH's lavender is terrible.

Sir, you can't lose with either. Both are excellent. I think the deciding factor is "hard soap" vs "croap."

Good luck. Oh yeah, if in a conflict...get both!

IMHO -it's no contest. I have bought DRH twice and sold both times due to unacceptable shave performance. IMHO of course.

Guys. Thanks for the info. I'm a huge fan of the Marlborough soap.  I don't question DR's performance. It's outstanding. That's why I was wondering about it, but I'm leaning towards CF.

The performance is excellent, as with all DRH products. You definitely can't go wrong there. For me, the scent is lacking, however. It's a "fake" lavender smell, reminiscent of a cheap perfume.

DR Harris soaps perform excellent for me.
I own all 6 soaps from them.

Indeed, the performance is excellent. As I mentioned however, it is the scent that I take issue with.

To op:

I have used both, and found the DRH soap slightly slicker and yielded a slightly closer shave compared to the CF cream/croap.
In regard to scent, I found them both pleasant. YMMV.
