I have cut myself with my razor a strangely large number of times recently. (3 times it the last month)

I realized I never cut myself when I'm actually making a shaving stroke. It happens when I'm getting ready to. Last night I gave myself a pretty nasty cut by placing the razor on my face gently. Obviously I must have done something different from the 50 other strokes I made last night, but I have no idea what it was.

I've done it three times in a year. Twice with a Futur while loading it and trying to adjust whilst shaving and once when I reached up for a SS and forgot I'd left the blade in it. All 3 were nasty but didn't need stitches.

A non-moving razor on skin is pretty dangerous. Most of us don't consider how much our extremities vibrate, and that can certainly cause cuts. I try to keep the razor moving when it's on my skin - just to avoid those cuts.

I recently cut my finger from the end cap. Have no clue how it happened but it did.

When this happens to me it's usually when I'm placing the blade right below my ear. It seems to be very sensitive up there.

Right beneath the right ear is where I sometimes nick myself.. I figure it must have something to do with the angle I hold my arm in to reach that spot.

That said, the worst cut to my face so far hasn't been from a razorblade... it was a papercut Blush

I consciously observed my self shaving today. I noticed that I actually begin the stroke before the razor touches my face, except for under the nose. I did nick my self there about 6 months ago so I guess I cut myself like you describe when placing the razor.

For me it's usually on my neck a couple of inches down from the ear. And usually on the cross-face side. I rarely cut myself on the right, though I am more prone to weepers there.

Wow, that is a strange situation. Hope you resolve that, Eric.
