You have a beautiful collection of brushes, I have a 3 band 28 mm Silvertip coming. What do you feel out of all your brushes has the softest tips and good backbone. Also what are your favorite brushes.
Thanks so much

How is the backbone and tip softness of the D01 3-band compared to the 2-band silvertip?

The D01 3 band isn't as soft as the 2 band silvertip. The backbone is about the same but the D01 3 band is denser. The D01 3 band I have is similar to a Simpson Chubby 1 in super imo. With that said, they are both wonderful knots and a pleasure to use.

Interesting. I have a 3-band silvertip which is ultra soft but too mushy for my tastes especially with hard soaps. I have a finest incoming to hopefully add a bit more backbone without much scritch. If it doesn't work I was going to look at the 3-band d01 but the one I tried was really kind of scratchy.

This just might be do to a variation in batches as the D-01 3-Bands that I have tried were very soft and very comparable to Simpsons Super 3-Band.

I will probably have to try either way. I've purchased five Shavemacs this year so what is one more?

[Image: bHx77qj.jpg][Image: 9DQ2p7y.jpg][Image: kxiBGQv.jpg]I have several older Shavmac brushes pictured in the first row. In the second picture is my new to me Beehive in finest, and a very unusual SMF adjustable Shavemac.

I only have one. The beehive second from left on the photo. Bernd made it a bit larger for me....27x54 2 band silvertip. Fantastic brush. The handle is proportionally larger as well. I'll have to get more. I will say I prefer a slightly longer loft on my ShaveMac compared to most members here.

Is the Shavemac, second on/from right, a custom order?
